Industry-first operation of various functions with iPad/iPhone/iPod touch

By connecting this device via a wireless LAN connection to an iPad/iPhone/iPod touch with the special "remotebox" mobile application installed, it is possible to select songs stored inside USB storage devices connected to the XDJ-R1 via the screens of these devices. In addition, it is possible to apply an "AUTO BEAT LOOP" function, which automatically loops music at a specified tempo, as well as intuitively controlling various effects using the X-Y pads of devices. The back of the XDJ-R1 also features a stand for installation of iPhone/iPod touch devices at an angle conducive to easy song selection.

DJ play can be performed using a diverse range of media and music formats, including music CDs and file formats such as MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF stored inside USB storage devices or recorded onto CD-R/RW.
The XDJ-R1 also provides MIDI support and can be used to operate various pieces of DJ software.

The "BEAT SYNC" function automatically synchronizes the beats of songs that have been analyzed by the "rekordboxTM" music management software played on each player, simply by pressing the "SYNC" button.

The unified structure of two players and a mixer means users can DJ with this device alone. The mixer part is equipped with ports for the connection of external hardware such as CDJ players and turntables, etc., so it can also be used as an independent 2-channel mixer.

A combination of all kinds of effects enables simple performance of a wide range of music arrangements and mixes.

1. HOT CUEThe "HOT CUE" function enables instant playback from a previously specified point, simply by pressing a button. Each player can set "HOT CUES" at three points.

2. 4 BEAT SAMPLERThe "4-BEAT SAMPLER" function makes it possible to play recorded sampling sound sources simply by pressing a button. Sound sources can be recorded from songs on USB storage devices and CDs.

3. BEAT FX Diverse forms of DJ play can be enjoyed by selecting from 4 effects (TRANS, FLANGER, ECHO, and ROLL) for each song played on each player and changing BPM and effects levels.

 Designed for Serato® software users, specifically for "Serato DJ,” the DDJ-SP1 is a slim and compact sub-controller that uses multiple performance pads, controls, buttons, and knobs to trigger a variety of unique audio samples and effects. The DDJ-SP1 is designed to be the ideal companion to Pioneerʼs new DJM-900SRT mixer but can also be matched with other systems via its MIDI controller functionality.  

The DDJ-SP1 is made for Serato software users who want to add effects when using a professional DJ setup of two players and a mixer such as the DJM-900SRT.  With the sub-controller, DJs can enhance their performances with multiple effects, similar to what\'s being done with our extremely popular DDJ-SX controller for Serato DJ.  The DDJ-SP1 includes a free of charge download of a Serato Video plug-in (valued at more than $100).  The plug-in is compatible with Serato DJ, Scratch Live and ITCH, that makes it extremely easy for users to insert video, effects and image files with music. 

• Performance Pads – Sixteen Performance Pads on the sub-controller for seven different functions including Hot Loop, Auto Loop, Manual Loop, Hot Cue, Roll, Slicer, and Sampler.  A "Sampler Velocity" function determines the output volume of the sample based on how hard the pads are struck.  Each pad can be assigned as a hot cue point, and its blue illumination will signify its state of play for instant graphic feedback.

Sampler Volume Fader - In between the the performance pads is a volume slider to control output of the trigger pads.  The convenient location of the slider enables quick volume adjustment during finger drum performances.

• Slip Mode – Pioneer included a Slip Mode function that enables continuous music playback in the background even when loops and hot cues are being performed.  The functionality can also be used with players and controllers that support Serato DJ but not Slip Mode.

• FX Knobs/Buttons – The integrated knobs and buttons are arranged for Serato DJ software for operation of iZotope® effects.

• The sub-controller includes a free of charge download of Serato Video (valued at more than $100), a video control plug-in compatible with Serato DJ, Scratch Live and ITCH, that makes it extremely easy for users to insert video, effects and image files with music.
