The XB-14² by Allen & Heath is a broadcast mixer designed for self-operated broadcast applications in small radio and internet studios, as well as larger facilities with multiple rooms. It comes in a compact package and is packed with radio-friendly options usually found on large-format broadcast consoles. This Mixer allows for an efficient and flexible workflow with features such as telephone-communication (Telco) channels, fader-start sensing, automatic muting of speaker outputs, stereo channel-start/cue outputs for CD deck-transport control, separate headphone mixes for guests, an audition bus, and more. Separate monitor mixes can be created enabling the operator to check levels and cues without interfering with the listening sources of the presenter or guests. Using remote-interface connectors, mono channels can be remotely muted from studio-located mute or cough switches (available separately). In addition, the Talk to Guest switch allows for the operator to communicate off-air with guests, presenters, and telephone callers. The audio circuitry of the XB-14² features four mic/line channels equipped with high-gain DuoPre preamps and 3-band EQs to help cut sibilance & mic popping, and 2-band EQs on stereo channels for use with music. The full-duplex USB sound card offers playback and record to & from a computer as well as voice over IP (VoIP), and is compliant with Mac & Windows core audio drivers. Flexible Routing Options
  • Four mic/line mono channels
  • Four dual-source stereo channels and a total of up to seven stereo sources
  • Aux bus for external processing, effects, recording or auditioning
  • Mix B for recording an independent mix to the main program mix, or creating a clean feed source from selected channels
  • Audition bus for auditioning or recording telephone conversations
  • 27 logic I/O for remote control
  • 15 configuration switches
  • Output matrix with three headphone outs allows separate mixes for engineer/producer and two guests
  • Talk button for off-air conversation with guests
DuoPre Preamps The four mono channels feature DuoPre technology which employs a two-stage design to control the input gain structure of the channel. The first stage provides 69 dB of gain for the signal at the XLR input. The second stage is activated by plugging the signal into the TRS line-input jack. This gain-staging eliminates the need for pad circuit & pad switch, and ensures that the signal remains in the optimum region of its dynamic range for lower noise and distortion. USB The XB-14² is equipped with a stereo bi-directional sound card for playback, recording, or voice over IP (VoIP) to and from a computer. Its USB 1.1 audio codec is compliant with USB 2.0 ports and Windows & Mac core audio drivers. Telco Two Telco channels provide a selectable clean-feed output (L/R PGM, Aux or audition bus), variable high-pass and low-pass filters which are useful when a caller is connected via a low-quality telephone line, and a talk button that allows for communication with a telephone caller without the presenter\'s voice going to the program mix. Remote Control The mono mic/line channels feature fader-start sensing to control external devices or to automatically mute speaker outputs to prevent feedback. The stereo channels are equipped with start & cue logic outputs used for CD deck transport control. Mic/line input channels can be remotely muted using an external "cough" switch (available separately). Robust Construction The XB-14² features individual vertically-mounted channel circuit boards with rotary controls fixed to the front panel using metal nuts. This robust construction allows for removing channels from the mixer one at a time and for easily changing faders, making servicing minimally disruptive. Additional Features

It is an intelligent mixer with an internal USB control section that speeds up daily use and includes a built in Silence Detector. It is a reliable workhorse for the self-op production D.J. with built in Telephone VOIP functionality. 4 in/out channels of stereo USB and 3 very low noise Mic inputs. The AIRLITE, ideal for ON-AIR, Production and perfect for streaming to the web. The AIRLITE accepts and instantly controls a maximum of 4 in/out stereo channels from your Play-out software. It is built into a metal, heavy duty RF shielded, powder coated chassis, designed with elegantly rounded corners.  Easily "drops” into your furniture to give that exciting and contemporary radio look.  A strong powder coated front panel with reliable controls gives you access to a flawless performance. MIC, LINE, USB and INTERNAL VOIP The AIRLITE mixer has 3 balanced, phantom powered mic inputs with inserts for voice processors. Eight stereo line inputs, 4x USB channels and 1x Telephone VOIP channel. Only one physical USB connection is the interface to transfer 4 stereo audio channels from and to your PC plus all control data from the control section and the software meter application. The VOIP Channel 8 has its own USB connector to be able to have your calls coming from another PC. Connection to a second USB connector on your main PC is of course also possible. Dedicated Talk back to the VOIP channel makes conversation with callers very easy. The Cue bus is also a communication buss, so the announcer can easily have a discussion with the caller outside the broadcast. Just hit the two related CUE buttons and you’re talking. There is a very musical 3 band Equalizer on channel 1-3. The stereo Aux send can be selected pre or post fader  And all high quality low noise mic inputs have a high guality built in low cut filter. STRAIGHT FORWARD MASTER SECTION DESIGNED WITH RADIO IN MIND. The AIRLITE master section is designed for Radio. It houses all the master controls such as the stereo Aux send and return, Control Room Monitor (CRM), Announcer and a high level phones output. Auto Cue switches let both the Announcer and CRM output follow the Phones CUE selections. A CUE reset cancels all activated Cue selections. Of course the Control Room Monitors are muted automatically to cut control room level when the D.J. Mic is active. A Studio output (announcer) that normally follows the main output can be routed by activating AutoCue in a way so any cue signal that is selected, can be heard when in this mode. Three Talk-back switches individually activate the built-in talkback microphone for communication to VOIP, Announcer and Aux outputs. MIC LINE INPUT CHANNEL The AIRLITE has an internal USB voice tracking bus that can be directly routed to a play-out system with Voice tracking capabilities, such as our AIRCAST software. The AIRLITE can also be used for production while ON-AIR when it is put into the NON-STOP mode. This NonStop switch routes the first USB channel directly to the main outputs. The AIRLITE is designed to be the focal point for Internet radio production work in the studio or... at home. It’s uncluttered and clearly understandable features makes it the ideal companion for rapid on-the-spot radio programs. The AIRLITE is compact, reliable and ideal for production rooms. It can also double as an On-Air mixer or implementedas your own Internet Radio station. If your budget is tight this is the solution. And... it never becomes obsolete as it can be used as preproduction mixer, if, at a later date, you fit in a larger On-Air mixer. Every system unit has its own very efficient, switched mode external power supply. AIRLITE USB CHANNEL Every AIRLITE USB Channel accepts a stereo source from a play-out system such as our AIRCAST. Levels can be set by the gain control. Pre listening can be done by the CUE switch and the ON switch can activate tracks of the Play-out system. This can also be done by "faderstart”. The fader is controlling a high quality VCA so noise or scratching or any other noise caused is a thing of the past. In case you run a classic station with CD players, the USB input can be switched to stereo line. The CUE is also a communication us that allows callers on the VoIP channel to listen to the music nd DJ without being on-air. USB ROUTING There are four USB stereo in- and outputs available on the Airlite. The inputs are internally routed to channel 4 to 7 where the USB input of channel four is also routed to the Non-Stop switch. The USB outputs, seen as inputs on your PC, are connected to the Program output, Aux send, Voice track and Air-in. The Air In input can be connected to your external processing unit and in this way you can stream your processed signal direct to the Internet without the use of an extra soundcard. VOIP CHANNEL Channel 8 of the AIRLITE mixer is a dedicated Voice Over Internet Protocol channel. (VoIP). Simply plug the dedicated Voip USB cable from the mixer to your PC and set up a connection with the software that is part of our package. You need to have a service provider that allows you to use VoIP for your telephone connections. A separate Gain control and VoIP send control let’s you tailor the levels. An incoming line can be pick up by the Conn button, prelistened to by the CUE switch and brought into your radioshow by the ON switch and Fader. If you still want to use an analog Hybrid, use the stereo Aux send as cleanfeed and return the signal in the VOIP channel with the input selector selected to Line. The internal built in Electret Talkback microphone can be routed to the caller outside the broadcast by activating the TB to VoIP switch. USB CONTROL SECTION On the right side of the AIRLITE mixer you see 16 illuminated (green/red) switches. These switches can be used to control functions in your Radio Automation such as starting jingle machines. Recording a voice track while ON-AIR is one of the possibilities. The USB control software, that is part of the package, can be easily programmed by yourself, to make radio even more exciting. Any switch can perform a function of your play-out software that you decide would be handy to control. Master controls can be found in the master section f or A nnouncer, Phones and CRM. When activating the Auto Cue for CRM and the Announcer, any selected CUE can be heard. As soon as the DJ mic opens the CRM  mutes of course to avoid feedback TALKBACK to all important outputs is directly accessable on the right hand side. The NON STOP switch instantly routes the first USB stereo signal (channel 4) to the main outputs which makes the mixer available for production again. POWER SUPPLY AND MORE The AIRLITE is powered by an external heavy duty switched mode power supply. The control surface can be easily mounted inside furniture as a drop through unit with rounded off corners to make a nice fit. The front panel thickness is 2mm with a corner radius of 20mm. All in and output connections are on standard Jack / Cinch and XLR connectors. Power supply input is by way of a rock solid powercon connector. SOFTWARE The AIRLITE sends out control signals over USB, based on the HID protocol. T his a lso m eans t hat t he m ain o utput signals can be displayed on a TFT screen in a beautiful meter application. Program and CRM stereo signals are shown on a high resolution PPM. On the right side you se the status of various modes the console can be set. Modes such as ON-AIR 1 or 2, Non Stop mode, there is even a Silence detector built inside the consoles, that instantly activates the NON-STOP mode. Mic-On and CRM mute are also displayed. Channel input selection is displayed at the bottom of the TFT screen. At the same time this software application shows you a professional looking Radio clock that is synchronized with your local PC.

USB XB-10 comes with a full duplex USB soundcard built-in and many useful routing options for recording and broadcast applications. MusiQ XB-10 features a responsive 3-band, swept mid frequency EQ design which utilises MusiQ with optimised slope for a variety of sources. Output Limiter A variable limiter ensures the level does not exceed a pre-defined level. Back panel option switches allow the limiter to be bypassed. A trim pot is used to vary the threshold and an LED on the front panel indicates when the limiter has triggered. CompACT Compressor XB-10 features our ComPACT compressor on each of its mic channels. CompACT (Adaptive Compression Technology) is a program-dependent audio leveller. Unlike other compressors, which are effective only at reducing loud sounds, CompACT combines both downward and upward compression with peak limiting. Low level signals are given a gain boost, mid level signals are mildly compressed with a soft knee response, and high level signals are limited.

We can supply you a perfect matching ON-AIR lamp for all our mixers. You can of course use the unit too for other brands. We call it ON-AIR Lamp but actually there is no lamp inside anymore, just everlasting high intensity red leds. The unit is powered by a 12 volt DC 1A external power supply. And what's more... no hassle with how do I connect this thing to my AIRMATE-USB/AIRENCE-USB/AIRLAB or AXUM. No complicated high voltage AC switching with external relays etc. etc. What you only need is one stereo cable (wired tip/ring) coming from the MIC-ON connector on the back of the AIRMATE/AIRENCE/AIRLAB console that goes directly hardwired to a terminal strip inside the ON-AIR LAMP. How easy is this for a change. The power adapter will also be directly wired to the terminal strip inside the unit. Width: 260mm Height: 125mm Depth: 65mm The power adapter (included in the delivery) will also be directly wired to the barrier strip inside the unit
