Content | The BIAMP MDS microphone discussion system is a highly flexible small to medium size tabletop discussion system. This easy to set up and to easy to use audio system is the perfect solution for meeting rooms, board rooms and medium conference rooms. This discussion system consists of a chairman unit (MDS.CHAIR) and up to 19 delegate units (MDS.DEL). The connection interface (MDS.INT) is located at the beginning of the microphone chain.
This MDS system has a unique circuit loop design with an easy set-up using standard CAT5 cables for linking up to 20 units in a daisy chain (every microphone and switching adaptor can be located anywhere in the loop). When the chairman presses the mute button, only the chairman unit will be active and all delegates will be muted and deactivated. The delegates can press a button to talk into the flexible gooseneck microphone (no mute function).
The MDS.INT easily connects to any pre-amplifier or matrix with a MIC input with wide gain control (about +20dB of gain needed), allowing you to control the volume and/or use the record output for recording the meeting. Combined with the CMX20T ceiling speakers or MASK4 cabinet loudspeakers, you will have an astonishing voice clarity! |

Infrared radiators providing wireless transmission of up to seven language channels for persons (e.g., observers) listing to a conference without asking for the floor.
The infrared radiators shall connected to the CS 5 BU through 2 BNC connectors and 50 Ohm coaxial cabling and serial concatenation. It shall transmit a PPM system modulated time-multiplex outputs of the central unit shall drive an arbitrary number of radiators. The CS 5 IRT1 shall have a radiation angle of +/- 22° and a working distance of 300 meters (with 50% down). The CS 5 IRT2 shall have a radiation angle of +/- 22° and a working distance of 500 meters (with 50% down).
As accessories of the infrared radiators the holding frame needed for mounting it to the side wall or the ceiling shall be included. The transmitter shall have a built in switchable power supply with IEC connector.

- Quick setup and takedown even of large systems
- No operator training required
- Superior audio quality
- Voice activation or manual PTT control
- Ease of use, high reliability
The CS 2 is the ideal solution for venues where no sound engineer is available permanently such as meeting rooms, town halls, etc. The central Base Unit controls microphone channels and a priority button allows one or more chairpersons to call the meeting to order. Two types of Microphone Units are available, the Chair Unit with a priority button (any number of Chair Units can be used in a system) and the Delegate Unit. Providing two loudspeakers, two headphone outputs, and a "Voice Zoom” function, each version can be used by two persons.
For permanent flush mounting e.g. in a tabletop an optional mounting frame CS 5 MF is available.
The CS 2 uses AKG's famous Modular Series capsules that connect to the Microphone Units via a GN 30 CS (approx. 12 in./30 cm) or GN 50 CS (approx. 20 in./50 cm) gooseneck. A rugged, threaded TRS mini jack with gold plated contacts ensures a firm, wobble-free mechanical joint and excellent electrical contact. Five different ready-to-use cables in standard lengths between 4 ft. (1.25 m) and 66 ft. (20 m) are available for connecting the individual Microphone Units together. This does not only save time but increases the reliability of the system. A range of optional accessories will solve any installation problem. With its wide variety of options, the CS 2 is more flexible than many "fully digital” systems. Plus, the AKG brand name stands for excellent sound and high reliability.
Bottom panel dip switches and pots on each Microphone Unit allow many functions to be adjusted individually.
- Voice Activation threshold
- Voice Activation hold time
- Microphone automute after user stops talking
- Enable/disable NOM limitation
- Voice Activation ON/OFF
- Priority level
- “Voice Zoom” ON/OFF
- Loudspeaker/headphones level reset or last setting
- Adjustable compression
