2-Way 5″ Active Monitor

Second in line in our studio monitors is the SC205. Like the name implies, it\’s a SilverCone two-way system with a 5″ woofer. But don\’t let your eyes deceive you. The SC205 might seem like a small speaker, but it definitely packs a punch. With an extended bass frequency response and an astounding output level, the SC205 will easily fill your room with exceptional sound.

The SC205 also comes with the convenience of threaded screw inserts on the bottom and the back. That way, you can mount your SC205 on a regular microphone or speaker stand, or use the back plate for different wall mounting options available on the market.

Tech Talk

The SC205 uses our 5″ SilverCone woofer for an extended bass response. This very stiff diaphragm is honeycomb structured and glass fibre coated. Like in other models, such as the smaller SC204, the SC205 is driven by a sophisticated magnet system that uses a 1″ voice coil responsible for delivering a greater linear excursion. All in all, this produces a bigger dynamic range than you would naturally assume from a speaker of these proportions. The result is an unsurpassed audio transparency that, when coupled with our proprietary AMT tweeter and PWM amplifier, will surprise you with a very powerful and precise low end.

Our AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter is our own proprietary technology that follows the rule of not using “off-the-shelf” components when looking for the best possible results. The preciseness and detail in the high frequency, along with the general tightness of the bass and mid-range frequencies, will make the SC205 equally adequate for use on the road or in studio.

DSP

With every EVE Audio speaker, you also get high resolution DSP electronics. One push knob operation and you will have access to accurate volume control and several different filter settings that will help you tailor your monitors to the way you work.

And if you always avoid digital processing, we\’ve got you covered. The DSP engine is supported with a high quality A/D converter from Burr-Brown, which delivers a pristine signal to the DSP section. And since the PWM amplifiers are directly connected to the DSP, no additional conversion is necessary. Please visit our DSP page to learn more about our DSP philosophy.

Bass Port Design

It\’s all in the geometry. One of the downside effects of port compression is bass distortion. As you turn up the volume, the efficiency of the port reduces and distortion will increase.

We opted for a large rear rectangular port with no hard edges for our bass port designs. That\’s one of the reasons EVE monitors have a high efficiency on the lower frequencies.

The results? High sound pressures with tight and punchy bass frequencies that don\’t cause port distortion. Crank up the volume, and EVE will deliver a round bass. With no holes to look at every time you glance at your speakers.

The Twin6 Be is the best seller of the Focal Professional range and the most versatile work tool of the SM6 line. It represents the only necessary solution for recording, mixing and mastering. The image precision, treble definition as well as midrange neutrality are at the heart of its reputation.
The excellent articulation of the bass and midbass registers, even at very high sound levels, makes it an unavoidable reference for engineers who require absolute transparency. Furthermore, the design of the Twin6 Be permits a high SPL while at the same time offering a stable tonal balance. One of the two 6.5" woofers works in large band (midrange – bass) whereas the other reproduces from 40 to 150Hz. This creates a bass that preserves all the signal dynamics, without any masking effect in the midrange, thereby keeping all its neutrality and transparency. Additional control of the bass register is accomplished by fine-tuning on the control plate on the back of the Twin6 Be in order to obtain a perfect mirror configuration with its mate. The Twin6 Be can be installed vertically or horizontally to respond to the space requirements of each studio.

S3X-V

Using the newly developed 4” HexaCone midrange and 9” HexaCone woofer combined together with the X-ART tweeter creates the unique S3X-V control monitor.

A step up over the smaller models, the S3X-V is capable of producing more power and volume along with a more detailed and homogeneous sound that will impress even the most experienced sound engineer. Whether the complex sonic images of an orchestra or the smooth tone of a jazz trio, the S3X-V reveals even the finest nuances of any material. The driver assembly of the S3X-V allows long time, non-fatiguing listening sessions.

Reviews: "Wonderfully detailed...”

“Wonderfully detailed, with an exceptionally transparent mid-range. [...] ADAM make the leap to a three-way speaker design that seems to pay dividends in clarity and separation. [...] I think it would be fair to say theyʽre the best sounding ADAM monitors Iʽve reviewed.” (Sound On Sound, 12/2009)

“No doubt, the S3X-V deserve the title Reference Monitor. With this series, ADAM Audio proves to have a very good feeling for meeting the specific demands of the sound engineerʽs guild, creating studio standards at the same time. [...] A precision tool combined with a luxury good.” (www.96kHz.de, 03/2010)
