The A5+ 5" Active 2-Way Speakers (Pair, Black) from Audioengine provide high-quality audio in a compact and stylish design, ideal for use with a variety of audio sources and devices. The system consists of an active left speaker and a passive right speaker, which are connected together via full-size gold-plated 5-way binding posts. Each speaker has a hand-built cabinet made from 0.75" thick MDF wood. Each cabinet contains a custom 5" Kevlar woofer and a 0.8" silk tweeter to provide clear, detailed audio with a wide frequency response and excellent realism.
The cabinets have rear-facing bass ports to extend low frequency response and tweeter waveguides to provide a wide dispersion pattern and realistic stereo imaging. The left speaker has internal Class-AB amplifiers that provide a combined system power of 150W to deliver a strong performance with low distortion. The rear panel offers 3.5mm and RCA inputs, allowing you to connect computers, MP3 players, smartphones, and any other product with 3.5mm or RCA outputs. The speakers are also compatible with Audioengine wireless audio adapters, and Apple's Airport Express and AirPlay.
The active speaker also has a stereo RCA output so you can connect an additional device, such as a subwoofer. A USB power/charging output allows you to charge small devices such as MP3 players or mobile phones while you listen to music. A convenient front-panel volume control lets you make quick adjustments. Protection circuitry includes output current limiting, thermal over-temperature, power on/off transient protection, and a replaceable external main fuse for lasting reliability. The speakers are also magnetically shielded for safe use near video monitors and other electronics.
The bottom of each speaker has a high-density isolation pad to reduce vibrations and reflections when used on a table or desk. There are also 1/4“-20 inserts so you can mount the speakers on stands. The system has a selectable operating voltage for international use. A convenient remote control is included for controlling the speakers. You are also provided with connection cables and carrying bags for quick and easy setup.
Compact and Affordable The compact design is ideal for use in bedrooms, offices, dorm rooms, and any other spaces where high-quality audio is desired in a compact design Easy Setup Simply connect the active left speaker to the passive right speaker using the included cable, plug the active speaker into the wall, connect your audio source, and you're ready to go! The speakers have full-size gold-plated 5-way binding posts for a high-quality connection and signal path Hand-Built Cabinets Each cabinet is hand-built from 0.75" thick MDF wood. Each component is custom-designed and tuned together for a high level of efficiency and audio performance Custom Drivers Each cabinet contains a custom 5" Kevlar woofer and a 0.8" silk tweeter to provide clear, detailed audio with a wide frequency response and excellent realism. | Two Way Bass Reflex Bookshelf Speaker System
Yamaha\'s NS-333 speaker system has been designed specifically for home theater applications. The bookshelf speaker is a bass-reflex design that can be used for main or surround channels and incorporates a 5\' Polymer-Injected Mica Diaphragm (PMD) cone woofer and a 1” aluminum dome tweeter. For improved imaging, the tweeter utilizes Yamaha’s exclusive waveguide horn.
Waveguide Horn
Unlike most homes, movie theaters use sound absorbing materials on walls and ceilings. The result is that the sound reaching your ears is the sound wave produced by the speakers rather than reflected off the walls. Yamaha has created wave guides that greatly reduce reflected sound and increase the proportion of directly generated sound waves reaching your ears. The result is a clear and precise sense of sound direction and placement.
Internally Wired with Monster Cable™
Yamaha has chosen to ensure optimum sound quality by internally wiring some of the components with Monster Cable™. This ensures a clean, clear signal from the crossover network to the speaker driver.
Magnetic Shielding
The speaker is magnetically shielded, so it can be placed on a TV or video monitor without degrading the picture via stray magnetic fields.
Performance Enhanced by a Handsome Cabinet
The EF series speakers are enclosed in an Elliptical Form cabinet with a high gloss black piano finish, which provides solid construction with minimal sound diffraction.
New Grill Design
New grill design and grill cloth provide an attractive and acoustically transparent protective cover for the drivers.

The M-1 has been engineered with the same design attributes and ethos as B&Wʼs larger ranges. Perhaps the most striking thing about the M-1 is the weight and strength of its curved aluminium cabinet. This is combined with a strong, glass-loaded ABS front baffle. Together they provide an excellent cabinet: the curved aluminium is stiff and the ABS offers excellent and appropriate damping characteristics.
The M-1ʼs drive units were developed by Bowers & Wilkins specifically for the design. The metal dome tweeter benefits from refinements developed for the new B&W 800 Series and includes Nautilus™ tube loading and neodymium magnets. The glass fibre bass/midrange coneʼs ability to absorb standing waves has been further enhanced by the inclusion of five strategically placed resin filled slots that further minimise distortion.
The result of this detailed cabinet and drive unit engineering has allowed B&Wʼs engineers to borrow another feature from the new 800 Series and utilise the simplest of electronic equalisation in the M-1ʼs crossover. Each of the drive units is fed by only a single, carefully selected component. This approach to crossover design, although painstaking as it relies on optimising all of the physical components in a design, is crucial in achieving its aim of neither adding to nor subtracting from the original signal.
The M-1 is available in three colour options - black, white and silver, each with chromium plated stem and table base.
