Designed to connect to virtually any device, the pair of walnut Audioengine HD6 Powered Speakers provide an analog RCA stereo input, a digital optical audio input, and ⅛” input. They consist of a 5.5″ woofer and a 1″ tweeter and can handle 50W per channel RMS, or 75W per channel peak. For your convenience, all connectivity is via the powered left speaker, which connects to the passive right speaker with the included speaker wire. In addition to the included speaker wire, an ⅛” audio cable, an RCA audio cable, magnetic removable grilles, and an IR remote are also included.

Custom Components Audioengine designs and manufactures their own speaker drivers and other critical components. In other words, the HD6 is not a “box-built” system with off-the-shelf parts, but includes custom-designed components constructed to their specifications. What they do not fabricate directly inside their factories, they have made to their specific designs – parts such as circuit boards, transformers, magnets, and wiring harnesses, for example. Efficient Integrated Design The speaker cabinets, drivers, bass port designs, amplifiers, and passive crossovers are all tuned together for the HD6. This, in turn, makes for a more efficient system that requires less power than passive speakers and a separate integrated amplifier or similar A/V components. Audioengine builds all this into the left speaker cabinet to make it easy to connect your smartphone, tablet, computer, TV, network player, or any other audio product. Built-In B1 and D1 Audioengine has taken features from the B1 aptX Bluetooth Receiver and the D1 24-bit DAC, and combined some of this circuitry inside the HD6. High-Quality Bluetooth Audio The Bluetooth built into the HD6 powered speakers features aptX coding, which is an advanced Bluetooth audio codec with enhanced sound quality. And even if your phone or tablet doesn’t have aptX, the HD6 Bluetooth solution is backwards-compatible with SBC and AAC codecs, so you can wirelessly stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device and still enjoy all your music. Extended Bluetooth Range Most Bluetooth implementations have a range of 30′, but with careful signal management circuitry and antenna tuning, the HD6 offers a solution that has up to a 100′ range for multi-room use, with no degradation in audio quality. 24-bit DAC The HD6 Bluetooth receiver and optical input both utilize the AKM AK4396A DAC, which is designed to provide low noise and high fidelity. The optical input configures the AK4396A as a bit-perfect 24-bit DAC, which will process sample rates up to 192 kHz natively. For Bluetooth, the AK4396A is used as an upsampling DAC and will pad all bit depths to 24-bits, achieving a higher signal-to-noise ratio and lower noise floor. Due to the high signal-to-noise specs of the AK4396A, the fact that digital signal is upsampled to 24-bits, and the added benefit of onboard triple redundancy power source conversion and filtering, the HD6 Bluetooth implementation presents impressive low noise and low distortion characteristics. Amplifier Design The amplifiers in the HD6 are located in the left speaker and are a conservatively-rated class A/B analog monoblock design. This is a more traditional speaker/amplifier marriage, which is designed to provide high-quality audio and greater flexibility. All circuit boards for the power and preamp sections are vertically mounted for maximum mechanical shock protection. Driver Designs Audioengine uses ferrofluid-cooled silk dome tweeters with neodymium magnets. Silk tweeters are designed to hold up well under high power, and the edge-driven design gives a smooth response. The woofers are Kevlar woven glass aramid composite with rubber surrounds. The strength of Kevlar means the woofer retains its shape when being driven at high levels. The HD6 woofers are housed in cast aluminum frames, which provide high rigidity and increased heat dispersion. Power Transformers Audioengine uses gapless-core toroidal transformers, which have a tighter radiated magnetic field, translating to lower noise. They are lighter than standard “EI” transformers, and also generate less heat. Detachable Grilles The HD6 includes detachable grilles that are firmly held in place with hidden neodymium magnets for a clean look. Additional Features

The M-1 has been engineered with the same design attributes and ethos as B&Wʼs larger ranges. Perhaps the most striking thing about the M-1 is the weight and strength of its curved aluminium cabinet. This is combined with a strong, glass-loaded ABS front baffle. Together they provide an excellent cabinet: the curved aluminium is stiff and the ABS offers excellent and appropriate damping characteristics.

The M-1ʼs drive units were developed by Bowers & Wilkins specifically for the design. The metal dome tweeter benefits from refinements developed for the new B&W 800 Series and includes Nautilus™ tube loading and neodymium magnets. The glass fibre bass/midrange coneʼs ability to absorb standing waves has been further enhanced by the inclusion of five strategically placed resin filled slots that further minimise distortion.

The result of this detailed cabinet and drive unit engineering has allowed B&Wʼs engineers to borrow another feature from the new 800 Series and utilise the simplest of electronic equalisation in the M-1ʼs crossover. Each of the drive units is fed by only a single, carefully selected component. This approach to crossover design, although painstaking as it relies on optimising all of the physical components in a design, is crucial in achieving its aim of neither adding to nor subtracting from the original signal.

The M-1 is available in three colour options - black, white and silver, each with chromium plated stem and table base.

High Performance, Compact Size, Surprising Price

Don't settle for flat sound from your flat panel TV, and don't miss out on the excitement of digital surround-sound in your shows, movies and games. Great surround-sound doesn't have to take up a lot of space or cost all that much. The payback is family fun and entertainment excitement. Don't miss out.

TL1 Features:

  • The silk dome tweeter delivers a classic, clear, detailed Polk performance, with pinpoint imaging and smooth highs that are never tiring.
  • Time Lens® technology aligns the acoustic centers of the tweeter and mid-bass driver on the same spatial plane for superior imaging, while an acoustic lens incorporated in the grille smoothes the tweeter's frequency response.
  • The unique curved enclosure design employs non-parallel surfaces to strengthen the acoustically inert enclosure and deliver less audible coloration from internal surface resonances.
  • Because of its Extended Linear Motion motor structure, the moving parts of the drivers used in the Blackstone TL Series can move farther, more smoothly, in a smaller space than any other speaker driver in an enclosure this size, achieving the kind of dynamic response (clarity, volume) you'd expect from much larger speakers.
  • An aperiodic-tuned rear-firing bass port combines the extension of a ported enclosure with the smoother low-end of an acoustic suspension enclosure, controlling port air flow for the kind of big bass response, and perfect speaker-subwoofer blending, you'd never expect from a loudspeaker you can hold in the palm of your hand.
  • The Blackstone aerated polypropylene cone is lightweight, but stiff and strong, with longer linear excursion capabilities in a limited compact enclosure space, so it plays louder with less distortion.
  • A super-small long-throw mid-bass driver, tuned with our patented Dynamic Balance® technology, delivers astonishingly smooth, flat frequency response, superior transparency and detail, and the surprising ability to play really, really loud for such a small speaker.
  • Polk's proprietary, patented Dynamic Balance technology allows our engineers to design out distortion-causing driver and system resonances, so you only hear the good sounds.
  • Hi-Gloss "Blackstone" finish, a durable, deep automotive-strength finish that matches today's most stylish flat-panel TVs and furniture.
  • Compact means go-anywhere for Blackstone TL: on shelves, on the wall, on stands. Built-in keyhole slots and threaded inserts (that fit virtually any brackets) give you multiple mounting options.
  • Gold-plated, professional-style 5-way binding posts, for the most secure connection options.
  • All models in the Blackstone TL Series are available in convenient, professionally matched 5-packs for instant home theater solutions in any room. There are two complete systems available that include a subwoofer; everything you need for an explosive, compact, easy-to-connect home theater system. Plus, you can use individually-available satellites to expand your systems to accommodate 6.1, 7.1 and beyond.

Itʼs widely understood that the sound of surround TVs cannot compete with the excitement of a properly designed and equalised home theatre system. But great sound comes at the expense of living space…until now. The wall-hugging RX-FX surround speaker reconciles the problem by providing a convincing, enveloping timbre-consistent surround sound that places you on the edge of your seat and at the heart of the action. Discreet enough to be flush-mounted on side or rear walls, the RX-FX design will blend with the system and your décor so completely youʼll wonder why you ever thought of compromise. Itʼs also immensely flexible sonically, offering direct or diffuse sound effects at the flick of a switch.
