The first Yamaha synthesizer was released in 1974, at a time when synthesizers were only just beginning to be accepted into the musical mainstream. Yamaha has been at the forefront ever since, with instruments that have defined musical styles and propelled countless artists to stardom. 40 years on, Yamaha synthesizers and music workstations are still the instruments of choice for acclaimed professionals and discerning amateurs worldwide. 40 years is a milestone worth commemorating. To mark this auspicious occasion and reaffirm our commitment to empowering artists everywhere with the finest tools available, we have created the limited edition 40th Anniversary MOTIF XF Music Production Synthesizer. The ARP Odyssey has been downsized to 86% of the original ARP Odyssey. Carefully selected parts are used in the familiar slider section, providing an operating feel that's even smoother than the original. The keyboard uses a 37-note slim keyboard that features lighter weight and excellent playability. While making the instrument more compact and easier to use, we have also paid attention to ensuring that the mini-keyboard is uncompromisingly "playable." Although the keyboard has 37 keys, the transpose function lets it cover a broad range of seven octaves.

Intuitive and ultra-powerful volca sequencer
A fun to use sequencer with superb improvisatory potential
The step sequencer is designed for ease of editing and to allow parts to be inserted or removed "on the fly." Use the 16 step keys to enter notes intuitively while maintaining visual confirmation of the timing of the notes in a measure. You can also record your performance in real time.
Up to ten of the sequence patterns you create can be stored in internal memory.
Motion sequencer records and plays back up to 11 parameters
The motion sequence function records your knob movements, letting you add time-varying change to the sound. This is a great way to polish your loops, and also lets you generate highly original live performances. The volca sample is able to record all knob movements that are related to sound editing. This allows sophisticated editing that had been impossible for hardware samplers of this category.

In Tyros5 Yamaha has created the ultimate performance keyboard, with outstanding sounds, enhanced DSP effects, and accompaniment Styles so real it's like being backed by the worldʼs finest musicians. The Tyros5 brings a level of authenticity like no instrument before it.
Whether sketching composition ideas, carefully crafting the perfect arrangement or delivering a memorable performance, the Tyros5 is your perfect companion.
Ensemble Voice is an amazing new feature that reproduces true 'divisi' playing in a section. In the past, a Voice like Brass Quartet would use a sample of four players, which sounded great. However, if you played two notes you'd get eight players, which could sound great but isn't the most realistic. Tyros5 Ensemble Voices always get the same number of players because Tyros5 has the musical knowledge of a professional music arranger. Play two notes with a Brass Quartet Ensemble Voice, and Tyros5 will send the trumpets to the top notes and the trombones to the lower notes; it's an incredibly realistic sound.
Ensemble Voices also utilize parameters which enliven the performance to reproduce the subtle variations in timing heard in a real ensemble. This provides an authentic sound that sounds as if a group of actual performers were playing and allows you to enjoy playing like an instrumental quartet with ease.
