The Blueberry Microphone from Blue features a precision-engineered, large-diaphragm cardioid condenser design with an open, natural response tailored especially for vocals. It can also be used for recordings with acoustic guitars, hand percussion, drums, and similar instruments. There is a pressure-gradient, large diaphragm element sputtered with a combination of gold and aluminum and a 6-micron mylar film tensioned to hand-built brass backplates for a high transient (peak) response and minimized distortion. A hand-built capsule and discrete low-noise circuitry provide detailed highs, smooth mids, and an articulated low-end. The microphone includes a wooden storage box and a shockmount.

The Blueberry imparts the commanding, intimate presence demanded from the worldʼs best vocal microphones.
With shimmering, detailed highs, neutral midrange, and minimized proximity effect (a bass boost inherent in all unidirectional mics), the Blueberry excels at delivering a vocal right to the front of the mix where it belongs.
The Blueberry is perfect for contemporary pop and rap applications because the bottom has been “scooped” out for big compression on slick vocal tracks and is ideally suited for deep limiting with your favourite plug-in or external compressor.
Acoustic guitar, hand percussion, drums, and other critical high-end sources also shine in front of the Blueberry.

  • Multi-purpose mic-ideal for lead vocal, acoustic guitar, and backing vocal
  • Cardioid condensor Class A discrete circuitry
  • Blue\’s famous hand-built large diaphragm capsule
  • Intimate sound — tight lows and mids, countoured top end for superior, airy presence in the highs
  • Hand-tuned and tested
  • Includes Series 2 shockmount
  • Includes cherry wood storage box
  • Requires +48V phantom power

AKG C214 – large 1” diaphragm microphone with cardioid polar pattern, frequency response: 20Hz-20kHz, 20dB pad, requires phantom power (12-52V), XLR connector. Includes clip, case and windshield. Dimensions: 160 x 55mm. Weight: 280g, optional microphone holder SA61 The C214 professional large-diaphragm condenser microphone has been designed as a cost-effective alternative to the high-end C414 family. Like the C414, the C214 offers a supreme one-inch capsule on an integrated suspension to reduce mechanical noise. A switchable 20dB attenuation pad allows recording of loud sources of up to 156dB SPL. A switchable bass-cut filter allows close-up recording with almost no proximity effect. The C214 captures sound by combining one capsule of the legendary C414 dual-capsule system and the patented AKG Back-Plate Technology, resulting in an outstanding performance close to the famous C414 XLII. Sonic character of the C414 XLII for beautifully detailed recording of lead vocals and solo instruments Outstanding dynamic range and ultralow noise for close-up recording of high-output sources of up to 156dB SPL Switchable 20dB attenuator and bass-cut filter for close-up recording and reduction of proximity effect Integrated suspension to reduce mechanical noise and vibration from stage Roadworthy design all-metal die-cast body with shock- and scratch-resistant finish
