The 828mk3 is MOTU's most advanced FireWire audio interface. Once again it raises the bar with innovative new features, enhanced standard features that remain unique, superb sound and reliable performance.

The 828mk3 provides ten channels of pristine 192 kHz analog recording and playback, combined with sixteen channels of ADAT digital I/O and stereo S/PDIF. Expand your system by connecting additional MOTU FireWire audio interfaces or the 8pre mic input expander.

The 828mk3 is equally well-suited for studio and stage, with or without a computer. As an interface or standalone mixer, the 828mk3 provides 28 separate inputs and 30 separate outputs, including dedicated main outs on XLRs and two front panel headphone outs.

Connect all of your studio gear, including microphones, guitars, synths, keyboards, drum machines and even effects processors. Record, monitor, route and process all of these live inputs using the professional on-board CueMix FX digital mixer – with no latency and no processor strain on your computer. Apply hardware DSP-driven compression, EQ and reverb to every input and output, independent of your host computer. When recording from the mic/guitar inputs, the 828mk3ʼs signal overload protection gives you an extra 12 dB of headroom above zero with no digital clipping or harsh artifacts.

MOTU FireWire audio interfaces are fully compatible with FireWire 800-equipped Macs. All you need is a standard FireWire 400-to-800 cable. Just plug in and go. The FireWire bus operates at 400 Mb/sec, providing the same high speed, low latency and rock solid reliability that MOTU FireWire interfaces are known for.

After programming the on-board mixing in the studio, unplug the 828mk3 from the computer and take it on the road for operation as a stand-alone mixer with effects. All mixing and effects parameters are adjustable using the front panel backlit LCD.

The 828mk3 provides cross-platform compatibility with Mac and Windows and all of your favorite audio software and host-based effects via WDM/ASIO/Core Audio drivers. Or you can use the included AudioDesk workstation software for Mac, with 24-bit recording/editing and 32-bit mixing/processing/mastering.

The SONAR REAC Recording System when used in conjunction with the RSS V-Mixing System or RSS Digital Snakes provides the most comprehensive live recording, mixing, mastering and delivery product available. This is the next phase in product development of the REAC driver, which Cakewalk engineered for Roland as a way for users to record from their Digital Snake/V-Mixer System directly into SONAR. The SONAR REAC Recording System includes:

* SONAR 8 Producer
* REAC Driver Kit
* Cakewalk Approved Hardware Monitoring Device
* SONAR Templates
* Users Guides

The REAC protocol provides up to 40 channels of audio to be sent via a single CAT5e Ethernet or fiber optic cable. The REAC driver, developed by Cakewalk, allows the REAC output from the RSS V-Mixer or RSS Digital Snake to connect directly into a PC using a single Ethernet cable.

SONAR 8 Producer gives you what you need for recording, composing, editing, mixing, and mastering. Get innovations that matter, from exclusive features to ignite creativity and perfect your tracks, to groundbreaking technologies that always keep you in control, all backed by the industry's leading 64-bit audio quality. And SONAR 8 Producer delivers the go-to production tools you want with the best collection of virtual instruments, mixing, and mastering effects found in any DAW.

With unlimited tracks, amazing creative tools, inspiring virtual instruments, the freedom to work with any audio interface or control surface, and the most complete delivery capability for collaboration with users of other DAWS, award-winning SONAR Producer is your best choice in a digital audio workstation.

SONAR 8 is the only DAW that offers one-of-a-kind music creation tools that actually help in the songwriting process. Whether you are searching for new ideas or looking to add musical parts to existing songs, SONAR 8 can help you break through those creative blocks.
