The ND44 Dynamic Tight Cardioid Instrument Microphone from Electro-Voice is a high-performance, large-diaphragm instrument microphone with a tight cardioid polar pattern. It can be used in various environments to capture audio for drums, and other rhythm section instruments in studio, live sound, and rehearsal applications.
The microphone offers excellent isolation from other nearby instruments and has an 80 Hz to 16.5 kHz frequency response. The ND44 capsule is tuned to deliver an aggressive and punctuated sound and requires no additional power to operate. In addition, the microphone features a pivoting head and drum rim clamp that makes mic placement easy and precise. It is built with a 3-pin XLR connector.
Well-suited acoustic control with aggressive and punctuated sound.Large-diaphragm dynamic capsule that creates a rich and detailed frequency response.Offering easy mic placement with a pivoting head, the ND44 low profile and dual pivot points solve virtually any mic placement challenge.DRC-2 drum rim clamp is made with an easy-to-use finger loop design. The clamp material is soft and compliant, and its handy finger loop allows a firm grip and simple motion.Humbucking coil guards against line hum and allows you to use with confidence near speaker cabinets and EMF-generating equipment racks.Memraflex grille resists denting. A durable and tight-mesh grille is built to withstand extraordinarily rough treatment.

Optimized for low-frequency bass punch/high-power SPL handling. Designed for kick drum.
The Shure BETA®52A is a high output dynamic microphone with a tailored frequency response designed specifically for kick drums and other bass instruments. It provides superb attack and "punch“, and delivers studio quality sound even at extremely high sound pressure levels.
The Beta 52A features a modified supercardioid pattern throughout its frequency range to insure high gain-before-feedback and excellent rejection of unwanted sound. A built in dynamic locking stand adapter with an integral XLR connector simplifies installation, particularly if the microphone is to be placed inside a kick drum. The stand adapter keeps the microphone position fixed and resists slipping, even when subjected to sharp blows and strong vibrations. A hardened steel mesh grille protects the Beta 52A from the abuse and wear associated with touring.
