MANUAL

A Professional CD Recorder/Player with Proprietary TEAC Tray-Loading Transport, it

Doubles as a Professional CD Player with Advanced Playback Functions

The CD-RW900MKII and CD-RW901MKII are professional CD recorders that replace the best-selling CD-RW900SL and CD-RW901SL. A new TEAC tray-loading transport ensures years of reliable operation in the most demanding installations. The new transport also allows gapless recording when writing track markers, something not possible using off-the-shelf PC drives. Various recording features like automatic track creation help the operator create polished recordings without constant supervision. An AKM AK4528VM is used for AD/DA conversion for clean, clear sound quality with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz +/-0.8dB.

With the CD-RW901MKII, balanced analog input/output jacks and external control terminals are included. Additionally, long-run continuous recording (and overlap recording) is possible by connecting multiple CD-RW901MKIIs with an accessory cable. An ISRC/RID code can be displayed to check the recording in a mastering studio.Whether used for PA/Sound Reinforcement playback, studio, mastering, or broadcast, the CD-RW900MKII and 901MKII are TASCAM's latest generation of reliable CD recording and playback.

The new CD6006 is a fine-tuned version with even more specially selected components and new layout circuit compared to its CD6005 predecessor. We also added more rigid feet to further eliminate vibration. The oversized power supply feeds the digital and analog circuitry of the player, where the high-quality CS4398 DAC converts digital signals to analog, this is then 'pushed' to the gold-plated synch outputs by Marantz's own small signal amplifier, the HDAM-SA2. In addition, we have included a new remote that also controls the PM6006 amp. The CD6006 is a match made in heaven for the music lover who wants nothing but the best performance at an attractive price, and it is also perfect for lovers of portable music, thanks to its iPod-digital connectivity. The CD6006 also features a newly developed, complex headphone amplifier with Headphone amp gain setting for a wider range of headphones.

Key to the audiophile performance offered by the CXC CD transport is our S3 servo solution. The vast majority of optical drives in use today are designed with computers in mind. While they can read all manner of disc media, they lack the precision and finesse of a dedicated audio drive. To address this, we have written our own software to precisely control the driveʼs laser and motor assembly.

  SIMPLIFYING THE SIGNAL PATH

The CXC is simplicity itself to setup and use, because we handle digital to analogue conversion in our amplifiers. Thereʼs a good reason behind this philosophy. Maintaining the audio signal in the digital domain for as long as possible minimises potential analogue signal degradation. Our CXC transport has one job to do and it does it very well indeed.

Our proprietary Cambridge S3 servo solution effectively turns a universal disc drive into a dedicated CD spinner; it can calibrate and monitor the speed of the disc, holding it steady and constant. By managing where the laser head is and what itʼs reading, as well as maximising error correction, we can get the maximum amount of clean data off the disc as possible, with the minimum jitter.

BUILT TO LAST

The CXC utilises a low-resonance acoustically damped metal chassis, with an ultra-clean low noise power supply. Beneath the hood, our PCB design employs double-sided surface mount technology, which eliminates wire links and ensures an ultra short signal path, thereby reducing signal deterioration.

C-BUS POWER SYNCING

Cambridge C-BUS connection means that one remote can be used to power on and off both CXC and CXA in sync.
