In the year 2001 RME started a revolution in mobile audio recording: the HDSP System, consisting of a PCI or CardBus card plus an external I/O-box has been the world’s first audio system, operating at both desktop and laptop. And the world’s first professional multitrack system for notebooks at all.

Today we are proud to look back and conclude: the HDSP system has become a true ‘industry standard’. Thanks to continuing firmware and driver updates it stayed a cutting-edge product, still offers un-beaten performance, and still enjoys great popularity among the users.

The PCI Express card uses RME’s own audio bus, already known from the PCI version, operating in combination with Multiface II, Multiface, Digiface and the RPM DJ interface. RME is especially proud on the fact that all users of RME interfaces can easily expand their system so that it operates with the latest and fastest PCI Express computers and Windows Vista, not loosing all the money formerly invested in audio hardware. As additional option the HDSPe PCI card can be used directly with RME’s Time Code Option Module, offering an SMPTE controlled operation.

Features

RME’s HDSPe PCI Card is not based on a PCI to PCI Express bridge, which would simply add PCIe to existing PCI technology. It is a newly developed genuine PCI Express solution, which consequently takes full advantage of the new format, achieving significant performance gains in multitrack audio. RME’s flash update technology ensures future firmware improvements, adjustments, and bugfixes to be installed easily at any time.

The PCI Express interface of the HDSPe system is based on the PCI Express Base Specification v 1.1. It represents a 1-Lane PCI Express Endpoint Device and supports 2.5 Gbps line speed. Thanks to the packet-based full duplex communication, the card provides a transfer rate of up to 500 MB/s – 250 MB/s in each direction.

The connection between PCI Express card and I/O box is established using ordinary FireWire cable (IEEE 1394, 6-pin). The data transfer does not use FireWire protocol, but RME’s own proprietary bus protocol. The supplied cable is 4 m (12 ft.) long. The PCIe card operates as power supply for the attached I/O-box (Digiface, Multiface, Multiface II, RPM) over the FireWire cable.

The 828mk3 is MOTU's most advanced FireWire audio interface. Once again it raises the bar with innovative new features, enhanced standard features that remain unique, superb sound and reliable performance.

The 828mk3 provides ten channels of pristine 192 kHz analog recording and playback, combined with sixteen channels of ADAT digital I/O and stereo S/PDIF. Expand your system by connecting additional MOTU FireWire audio interfaces or the 8pre mic input expander.

The 828mk3 is equally well-suited for studio and stage, with or without a computer. As an interface or standalone mixer, the 828mk3 provides 28 separate inputs and 30 separate outputs, including dedicated main outs on XLRs and two front panel headphone outs.

Connect all of your studio gear, including microphones, guitars, synths, keyboards, drum machines and even effects processors. Record, monitor, route and process all of these live inputs using the professional on-board CueMix FX digital mixer – with no latency and no processor strain on your computer. Apply hardware DSP-driven compression, EQ and reverb to every input and output, independent of your host computer. When recording from the mic/guitar inputs, the 828mk3ʼs signal overload protection gives you an extra 12 dB of headroom above zero with no digital clipping or harsh artifacts.

MOTU FireWire audio interfaces are fully compatible with FireWire 800-equipped Macs. All you need is a standard FireWire 400-to-800 cable. Just plug in and go. The FireWire bus operates at 400 Mb/sec, providing the same high speed, low latency and rock solid reliability that MOTU FireWire interfaces are known for.

After programming the on-board mixing in the studio, unplug the 828mk3 from the computer and take it on the road for operation as a stand-alone mixer with effects. All mixing and effects parameters are adjustable using the front panel backlit LCD.

The 828mk3 provides cross-platform compatibility with Mac and Windows and all of your favorite audio software and host-based effects via WDM/ASIO/Core Audio drivers. Or you can use the included AudioDesk workstation software for Mac, with 24-bit recording/editing and 32-bit mixing/processing/mastering.

Equipped with the latest generation 24-bit, enhanced multi-bit 128x oversampling 192-kHz converters, the HD192 achieves a remarkable A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB with balanced XLR connectors throughout. Ideal for surround applications, the HD192's 12 inputs and 12 outputs can support two simultaneous 5.1 mixes. And the HD192 is full of advanced features, like AES/EBU I/O with sample rate conversion both in and out.

The PCI-424 card introduced with the 2408mk3 is 192-kHz ready. Just connect the HD192 expansion interface to record 192-kHz audio.

The HD192 can be purchased as an expander for an existing PCI-424-based MOTU Audio System, or as a core system which includes the PCI-424 card and Audiodesk workstation software.

The Smallest, Most Portable 2x2 USB Interface Around! Are you looking for a simple upgrade to your computer's stock audio hardware? Do you want to record high-quality stereo audio to your laptop? Are you searching for the most affordable audio interface for computer DJ applications? The Behringer UCA222 USB Audio Interface does all this and more in one of the smallest, simplest, and lowest-priced packages around. It's a quick, simple, reliable solution for a wide range of audio applications. High-Quality, Industry Standard ConnectionsLook at your computer's audio output. What is it? A 1/8-inch mini stereo jack, most likely. That's fine for plugging in headphones, but a terrible way to connect to external sound systems, stereos, PAs, mixing boards, or any other audio hardware. The UCA222 easily connects to your outboard pro audio gear, and you even get an optical S/PDIF digital output for connecting to high-end digital equipment. Now, take a look at your computer's input. If it has one at all, it's most likely the same deal -- 1/8-inch mini-jack. Again, the Behringer UCA222 provides universally recognized RCA inputs for bringing a wide variety of audio sources and equipment into your computer for pristine recording. You also get a dedicated headphone output for direct monitoring of both the ins and the outs on the UCA222. Greatly Improved AudioYou computer's built-in audio system has a number of limitations, especially if your computer is a laptop. Machine noise and other electrical interference can disrupt, distort, or otherwise ruin recording and critical listening and playback situations. The Behringer UCA222 solves this problem by placing your sound card at the end of a USB cable run far from your machine's noisy electrical components. It seems like a such a simple solution, but this arrangement greatly reduces interference and provides a wonderfully low noise-floor for recording and professional playback. The UCA202 provides analog-to-digital audio conversion at 48 kHz or 44.1 kHz sampling rates and 16-bit resolution. Super Simple Setup As a USB device, the UCA222 is the textbook example of a Plug-N-Play device. Compatible with both Windows and Mac systems, the UCA222 requires no additional software drivers to work. Relying on your operating system's sound architecture, the UCA222 is instantly compatible with just about every audio software on the market, from multitrack DAWs like Logic and Cubase to audio editing programs like BIAS to DJ software like Itch. Spend time making music, not troubleshooting your hardware. The applications for the Behringer UCA222 USB Audio Interface are practically limitless. Whether you're an electronic music producer, latptop DJ, mix engineer, audio archivist, or just a lover of music, the Behringer UCA222 is just about the easiest way to add a professional audio interface to your computer.

he U46XL is a powerful multi-purpose 4-in 6-out multi-channel audio interface designed for various recording applications at home or on the road. The U46XL is the successor of to ESI Audio's famous U46DJ interface.

As its predecessor, it provides 2 stereo line inputs, a microphone input with +48V phantom power and a headphone output. A main difference is the improved analog circuitry improving the audio quality as well as the professional microphone preamplifier with XLR input. This makes the U46XL the perfect solution to record signals from dynamic or condenser microphones on the road or in your studio.

The unit also features an instrument input (Hi-Z), typically to connect a guitar directly to it. Two totally separate stereo line input on the backside provide 4 simultaneously usable input channels at one time. There are also 6 independent individual outputs on the backside, perfect for multi-channel playback applications like to provide individual outputs for software synthesizers, to provide independent playback channels for DJ software or to provide surround playback capability via a 5.1 setup. A separate mix output with professional TRS outputs could be used to connect U46XL to professional stereo studio monitors.

A cool feature is the DirectWIRE support in the driver, allowing you to record signals from one application to another internally. U46XL works with this driver based on our EWDM technology under Windows XP and Windows Vista/7, however U46XL is also Mac OS X compatible.

U46XL ships with Cubase LE 4 from Steinberg for Mac and PC to start recording on a professional level right out of the box.
