High-performance computer connectivity
New, optimized drivers for both Mac and PC deliver ultra-low latency performance. With a high-performance DAW such as Digital Performer, the 8D delivers an astonishing round trip latency (RTL) of 1.70 ms (milliseconds) on OS X and 1.71 ms on Windows over USB (at 96 kHz with a 32-sample host buffer).

DSP mixing and effects processing
The 8D's 48-input digital mixer delivers 7 stereo aux busses, 3 groups, access to 64 network inputs, and DSP effects, including classic reverb, EQ modeled after British analog console EQs and compression modeled after the legendary LA-2A compressor. If you know your way around a large-format mixing console, you'll feel right at home. With 32-bit floating point processing, the 8D's DSP engine delivers virtually unlimited headroom and the utmost in sound quality.

Web app control
The software that you use to control the 8D doesn't reside on your hard drive. It's a web app served from the hardware itself. This means you can control the 8D'son-board DSP, mixing, and device settings from the web app software running in your favorite web browser on the computer, or even a tablet or smartphone on the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

Audio analysis tools
Analyze and scope your audio with advanced diagnostic tools, including a full-screen real-time FFT display, spectrogram "water- fall" display, full-featured oscilloscope, X-Y plot and phase analyzer.

When recording from the four mic/guitar inputs, the Traveler-mk3ʼs signal overload protection gives you an extra 12 dB of headroom above zero with no clipping or harsh artifacts.

After programming the on-board mixing in the studio, unplug the Traveler-mk3, remove the rack brackets, and take it on the road for operation as a portable, bus-powered audio interface for a laptop or battery-operated stand-alone mixer with effects. The Traveler slides easily into your backpack and fits neatly beneath your laptop. All mixing and effects parameters are adjustable using the front panel backlit LCD.
