The Komplete Audio 6 is one of the best performing USB audio interfaces and has been a decent purchase ever since it was released in 2011. 8 years later Native Instruments finally get around to building a couple more interfaces along similar lines. The Komplete Audio 1 and Komplete Audio 2 are designed to be simple, entry-level interfaces and they look quite tidy.

Komplete Audio 1

First up is the imaginatively named Komplete Audio 1. It has 1 XLR microphone input and 1 regular jack input for instrument or line level. Outputs are on RCA phono for connecting to your hi-fi speakers and a headphone output with its own level control. It’s got some sweet VU LED meters on the top and a lovely big volume knob like the Audio 6 before it. It has direct monitoring and an input/host mix knob so you can hear playback while recording. Simple, elegant, USB powered, good quality recording and playback for your computer or laptop.

A built-in USB cable then sends signal directly to your computer, where the amazing included software package simulates guitar amps and stomp boxes, in addition to tracking your latest masterpiece. It has a 1/4" headphone jack and PHONES volume dial so you can monitor your performance as you record, a CLIP LED to tell you when your signal is too hot, and a HI/LO level selector. Super Software The UCG102 comes packaged with Native Instruments' "Guitar Combos" software that models guitar amps and stomp boxes. Take your pick of the "PLEXI COMBO“, "TWANG COMBO” or "AC BOX COMBO” for stunningly real amplifier tones. Sample them all, then activate the full version of the classic rockin' "AC BOX COMBO" rig. Native Instruments extends special offers to all registered Guitar Combos users, making it more affordable than ever to take advantage of their award-winning GUITAR RIG software packages. Visit http://co.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=4101&prid=247&redirected=1 for the latest special pricing on this incredible software. You also get energyXT2.5 BEHRINGER Edition, a multi-track recording program. The 828mk3 is MOTU's most advanced FireWire audio interface. Once again it raises the bar with innovative new features, enhanced standard features that remain unique, superb sound and reliable performance.

The 828mk3 provides ten channels of pristine 192 kHz analog recording and playback, combined with sixteen channels of ADAT digital I/O and stereo S/PDIF. Expand your system by connecting additional MOTU FireWire audio interfaces or the 8pre mic input expander.

The 828mk3 is equally well-suited for studio and stage, with or without a computer. As an interface or standalone mixer, the 828mk3 provides 28 separate inputs and 30 separate outputs, including dedicated main outs on XLRs and two front panel headphone outs.

Connect all of your studio gear, including microphones, guitars, synths, keyboards, drum machines and even effects processors. Record, monitor, route and process all of these live inputs using the professional on-board CueMix FX digital mixer – with no latency and no processor strain on your computer. Apply hardware DSP-driven compression, EQ and reverb to every input and output, independent of your host computer. When recording from the mic/guitar inputs, the 828mk3ʼs signal overload protection gives you an extra 12 dB of headroom above zero with no digital clipping or harsh artifacts.

MOTU FireWire audio interfaces are fully compatible with FireWire 800-equipped Macs. All you need is a standard FireWire 400-to-800 cable. Just plug in and go. The FireWire bus operates at 400 Mb/sec, providing the same high speed, low latency and rock solid reliability that MOTU FireWire interfaces are known for.

After programming the on-board mixing in the studio, unplug the 828mk3 from the computer and take it on the road for operation as a stand-alone mixer with effects. All mixing and effects parameters are adjustable using the front panel backlit LCD.

The 828mk3 provides cross-platform compatibility with Mac and Windows and all of your favorite audio software and host-based effects via WDM/ASIO/Core Audio drivers. Or you can use the included AudioDesk workstation software for Mac, with 24-bit recording/editing and 32-bit mixing/processing/mastering.
