The Nord Stage 3 has three sound generating sections; Piano, Organ and Synthesizer, all of which can be used simultaneously. Furthermore, the Nord Stage 3 has 2 separate slots allowing you to have 2 Pianos, 2 Organs and 2 Synths plus Effects at the same time for massive sonic flexibility.The Nord Stage 3 also features 3 Split Points and a new Split Point Crossfade functionality. Choose among 3 different crossfade widths (Small, Large or Off) indicated by different LED colors. A new Split Point Editor Mode lets you easily organize and set up Split Points using the OLED display giving you a great overview of the assigned sound sources for each Split zone.  The Nord Stage 3 features a wide selection of Grands, Uprights, Electric Pianos, Digital Pianos, Clavinet and Harpsichord from our exclusive Nord Piano Library - all handpicked for their unique characters! With a newly designed, great-feeling 88-note graded hammer-weighted action and over 800 of Kurzweil's best preset sounds, the SP5-8 offers the high-end sound palette of a professional workstation combined with the easy workflow and simplicity of a stage piano. Of course the SP5-8 includes a varied assortment of piano presets - concert grands with shimmering reverb (halls, rooms, chambers), perfectly compressed and EQ'd studio pianos, classic barrel-house and tack uprights as well as richly layered combinations with strings and pads. Also included are dozens of detailed vintage instrument emulations; electric pianos (some of which use 30+ velocity-switched layers), Clavinets, Mellotrons and electric grands, in addition to a broad selection of KB3 organs and KVA virtual analog synths. It's the Effects...

The final ingredient to the PC1SE's sound is its effects processor, using the same technology found in our award winning KSP8 processor and K26 Series keyboards. Stated simply, the effects section in the PC series sounds better than most stand-alone effects processors. Reverbs decay noiselessly into complete silence. The many chorus, phaser and flanger presets are full and rich. Transparent compressors, authentic rotary speaker emulations, and realistic distortion presets are ideal for "vintage" sounds. And of course there are the effects algorithms unique to Kurzweil, like shapers and Laserverb.
