DJ`s all over the world claim very high demands to their professional equipment, among which the cartridges “plays` their decisive part by realising the scratching, back-cueing, and live artistic performance, as a big part of the show. Reliability and robustness is vital, when the cartridges night after night will have to withstand these demands in environments with extreme soundpressure and vibration.

Scratching and back-cueing impose heavy mechanical stress on the cantilever and its rubber bearing. Therefore, the Ortofon disco cartridges are equipped with cantilevers made from aluminium tube with increased wall thickness. Special attention has also been paid to the attachment of the bearing and the design of the bearing itself. This means that rough treatment will neither damage the cartridge nor degrade its stability.

The OrtofonPro cartridges were the first to combine the unrivalled Ortofon sound quality with the ruggedness that is a must for professional use.

  • The MC 3 Turbo takes high output moving coil (MC) cartridges a step further, with a high polished, nude fine line diamond.  The MC 3 Turbo has a 3.3mV output, which is perfect for use with virtually any moving magnet (MM) phono preamps, included inbuilt models.  The nude fine line diamond resolves a high level of detail and provides expansive stereo imaging.

M44-7 Revived exactly the same as the original, this legendary battle needle offers ultra-high skip resistance and ultra-high output. The needle of choice for many champion DJ's worldwide.  Engineered for scratch DJ's and turntablists, the M44-7 is designed not to skip under even the most demanding circumstances.
    • Combining the Shure unique wide-diameter Type S cantilever with a tracking force of 1.5 to 3.0 grams, the M44-7's rugged construction is highly durable, but will not unduly wear your vinyl.
    • With a 9.5 mV output, the M44-7 produces powerful, resonant sound.
    • Skip Resistance: ultra high
    • Output: ultra high
    • Record Wear: ultra low
    • Sound Emphasis: big bass

The MC 1 Turbo is an excellent entry into the world of high output moving coil (MC) cartridges, with an elliptical stylus profile.  The MC 1 Turbo has a 3.3mV output, which makes it perfect for use with inbuilt phono preamps – specifically ones designed for moving magnet (MM) cartridges.  The MC 1 Turbo provides a taste of the linearity and precision of moving coils, but without the need for additional high gain preamps or transformers.

2M Black - The 2M series were developed in conjunction with Danish designer Møller Jensen Design – the same designer who designed the award winning MC Jubilee and Kontrapunkt series. Inspired by the facets of a diamond, whose contours gracefully trace the grooves on a recordʼs surface, the 2Mʼs handsome elegance establishes a great combination of form and functionality. 2M are designed for precise and accurate retrieval of the information in the record groove. Our philosophy is to play the record sound as accurate as possible, without coloring the sound. We have optimized the design for ease of mounting the cartridge, weight and size to fit the most common turntables at the market today. The name 2M was selected among several ideas. We wanted a modernname which should be easy to pronounce and to remember, and therefore an alpha numerical name was chosen. 2M means MM, which is the abbreviation for moving magnet. The 2M Black is the new moving magnet flagship from Ortofon. The 2M black is graced with a Shibata diamond stylus – the same diamond as on the acclaimed MC Jubilee. Its slim, highly polished profile allows an exceedingly wide contact area to the groove walls and ensures notably detailed reproduction throughout the spectrum, including even the most high frequency groove information. Users of the 2M Black will enjoy the benefit of impeccable sound quality, along with reduced record & stylus wear and reduced distortion and phase error as a result of the diamondʼs improved tracking geometry. The cartridge body used for the 2M Black is manufactured from a newly-developed Noryl plastic/glass combination, a revolutionary material which ensures high rigidity while eliminating unwanted resonances. The 2M Black uses a special upgraded engine, featuring split pole pins with a silver plated copper wire. The 2M series of cartridges feature Ortofonʼs trademark split pole pins, an invention which enables moving magnet cartridges to have a flat frequency response, as with a moving coil cartridge.  Split pole pins were invented by Ortofon, and were originally presented in the 500 series and Super OM series. The 2M Blue uses an improved engine, which provides an increased output of 5.5mV.
