PALMER AUDIO P3EASY MI T-Series – Easy Amp Selector

Palmer 3-EASY - the economy version of Palmer's TRIAGE router.

Featuring the renowned quality of our T-Series it switches the input signal (e.g. that of a guitar) between 3 outputs. For increased dynamic response and headroom the 3-EASY steps up the 9V power supply to approx. 30V. Switching is silent and instantaneous. This is achieved by processor controled long-life microswitches while the actual footswitches serve as mechanical triggers only. Input and outputs are set to unity gain while output is lo-Z to prevent signal loss in FX chains and long cable runs. Outputs 1 + 2 are floating and electrically isolated by a high quality transformer to eliminate ground loops (most competitors sell this feature as an accessory only). Since guitars need to be grounded for proper shielding output 3 is not isolated. When using this to connect a battery powered tuner output 1 can be grounded via a sliding switch. The discrete Class A FET input amplifier is similar to the input stage of a hi-Z tube amplifier.

Due to increased power consumption the 3-EASY is not battery operated, and it comes without a wall wart since most pedal boards feature a 9V power supply. Palmer power supplies are available as accessories e.g. the single output PW9V, or the universal pedal board power unit PWT12 with 6 x 2 isolated outputs.

The FS-10 is a multi-function footcontroller that allows access to all 128 patches plus the tuner function. It operates in three modes: 
Patch Mode – This mode allows you to switch between the three banks of four patches accessible on the front panel of the amp (patches 1-12) in addition to patches 13-128, plus access to the tuner function and the ability to change to the other modes.

Effects mode – This offers individual switching of the effects within a patch, operating more like traditional effects pedals. In this mode the fourth switch is used to control the tap time function. 8.

Navigation mode – Enables access to the complete set of 128 patches stored on the amp. These can be stepped through one at a time, or in banks. Whilst in this mode you can also store patches.

The Palmer PEABI is more than a simple switcher for two sources; simultaneously, the PEABI also handles level adjustment for various sources. Whether microphone or line signal, the PEABI toggles silently between the two inputs and thus permits fast and simple comparison between signals or connection of various sources to one input. Three slide switches make it possible to select various attenuation levels (6, 15 or 21 dB attenuation) individually for both inputs. A ground lift helps to avoid ground loop hum. Housed in a solid metal case with extended edges for optimum protection of the in- and outputs. A red LED clearly indicates which input is currently active. Pre-drilled holes permit simple and secure mounting in a rack or on a pedal board. The PEABI's strictly passive circuitry means that it requires no power supply at all. A 9-volt block battery is required to power the LED.
