When a guitar is connected to a guitar amplifier, the pickup and the amp join together to form a circuit. But as soon as you introduce a buffer in between the pickup and the amplifier, the natural relationship is lost. The pickup only 'sees' the buffer and the tone changes. This is the fundamental reason why guitarists hate the sound of wireless systems and non-true-bypass pedals. The Dragster solves the problem by restoring the full rich tone you lose when you plug your guitar into a wireless transmitter or other types of buffered inputs such as effects pedals, mixing consoles, sound cards or all-in-one recording systems.

The Dragster is plug & play easy to use. You simply connect your guitar or bass to the Dragster using one of the ¼" inputs and then exit the Dragster using the other. Set the thumb wheel to the sound you like and you are set to go! The compact design makes it easy to fit on any pedalboard while the built-in mounting flanges make it a breeze to attach to a guitar strap. The AC 275 is an active, phantom powered direct box. Unlike a passive DI where the frequency response of the signal can be altered depending on the connected impedance, an active DI buffers the input signal with an amplifier. This assures that the sound source will reach the mixer balanced and noise-free.

Housed in a cast alloy chassis, the AC 275 supplies two, high impedance, unbalanced 1/4" jacks and one low impedance balanced XLR jack. It operates with battery or phantom power.

Take even more control of your sound by utilizing the polarity invert switch to set the phase relationship between the direct and mic'd sound.

As a professional, you donʼt have time for interference, so weʼve included a ground lift switch to solve potential hum and buzz problems due to ground loops. And between the combined shielding of the cast metal chassis and the custom-wound transformer, you can be doubly assured of a clean signal free from interference. All of this sits atop a solid, stable footprint, that will keep the box from being dragged around the stage, and the unique contoured underside allows secure stacking of multiple units.
