The black Shure CVB-B/C is a Centraverse Series cardioid boundary condenser microphone designed to provide an optimized-for-speech frequency response and discreet desktop installation for presenters and speakers in conference rooms, corporate events, houses of worship, and meetings. The low-profile microphone features CommShield technology to reject RF interference and an attached 12’ XLR cable for compatibility with most mic preamps.
The cardioid condenser element yields a frequency response of 70 Hz to 16 kHz, which naturally attenuates low frequencies that are often produced by vibration and rumble. It is powered by 11 to 52 VDC phantom power.
- Cardioid polar pattern cartridge
- CommShield technology guards against RF interference from portable wireless devices (smartphones, among others) and enables high resistance to nearby radio signals
- Attached 12\' XLR cable
- Frequency response is suitable for capturing fast transients in a wide variety of locations such as podiums and desktops
- Shure design and rugged, dependable construction
- Mounting holes for secure installation
- CE compliant

With three cardioid condenser elements in a single housing, the phantom-powered U843R offers a remarkably versatile tool for surface-mount installations. Levers on the microphone base allow easy reorientation of two elements to offer 360° or 300° coverage. Since elements can be powered and used individually or in any combination, further flexibility is easily achieved. For example, with two elements powered, the microphone can provide a figure-of-eight polar pattern; with a single element powered, the microphone functions as a standard cardioid boundary microphone. Installation and repositioning are extremely quick, thanks to four recessed pathways on the base of the microphone that enable the user to route the cable as required to accommodate any installation requirements; no tools or disassembly are needed. The microphone also offers Audio-Technicaʼs innovative UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology.
- Three cardioid condenser elements mounted in a single housing
- Easily reposition two elements (via levers on the microphone base) to offer 360° or 300° coverage; each element can be powered and used individually or in any combination
- Also functions as a stereo boundary microphone
- Provides full, efficient and flexible coverage—fewer microphones required
- Small-diameter capsules near boundary eliminate phase distortion and deliver clear, high-output performance
- Low-frequency attenuation improves sound pickup without affecting voice quality
- Cable routes through any of four recessed pathways on the microphone base (or down for direct feed through a table surface); no tools or disassembly required
- UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology offers outstanding rejection of radio frequency interference (RFI)
- Heavy die-cast case and non-slip silicone foam bottom pad minimizes coupling of surface vibration to the microphone
- Low-profile design with low-reflectance finish for minimum visibility
- Element: Fixed-charge back plate, permanently polarized condenser
- Polar Pattern: Hemispherical Cardioid x3 (combine to omni-directional or bidirectional)
- Frequency Response: 70-16,000 Hz
- Open Circuit Sensitivity: –37 dB (14.1 mV) re 1V at 1 Pa
- Impedance: 100 ohms
- Maximum Input Sound Level: 134 dB SPL, 1 kHz at 1% T.H.D.
- Dynamic Range (Typical): 105 dB, 1 kHz at Max SPL
- Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 65 dB, 1 kHz at 1 Pa
- Phantom Power Requirements: 11-52V DC, 2 mA typical
- Switch: The lever of elements can adjust the proper position
- Weight (Less Cable): 160 g
- Dimensions: 20.0 mm - height
85.0 mm – maximum body diameter - Cable: 7.6 m long (permanently attached to microphone), 4 mm diameter, 6 conductor, shielded cable; output end stripped and tinned for connection to electronic device
- Accessories Furnished: Soft protective pouch
