The 8s powered studio subwoofer builds upon KRKʼs legacy for sonic accuracy in a compact form factor. The custom-voiced, glass-aramid woofer delivers tight, defined bass, while the Class-D power amplifier dramatically increases transient response, control and punch. The four-position selectable crossover lets you adjust the subwoofer setting easily to your existing monitors. Pairing the 8s subwoofer with KRK or another studio monitor delivers an optimized mixing and listening experience with extended low end, while the exclusive bypass-control feature provides full range audio to the monitors without switching off the subwoofer. KRKʼs 8s subwoofer doesnʼt just deliver precise bass and a rich feature set: itʼs the next dimension in subwoofer performance.

The Sub6 is a large volume cabinet design, equipped with an 11" woofer and a rear laminar port. This configuration guarantees bass linearity whatever the intended SPL. The control board is extremely versatile, with connectivity which allows a 2.1, 2.2 and multichannel use via the L/R inputs and outputs and the LFE. The numerous settings such as the high-pass crossover dedicated to monitors, the adjustable phase and level control provide optimum coupling with the Solo6 Be and the Twin6 Be monitors. And finally, a small, but important point: the footswitch input. It enables one to connect a pedal to deactivate the subwoofer and the high-pass crossovers on the outputs that supply the monitors. This simplifies and greatly improves control during the different stages in monitoring.

The Genelec 5040B is an extremely compact active subwoofer designed to complement up to five 6010B's with accurate and dynamic bass response reaching down to 35 Hz. Matched perfectly with the 6010B's, the 5040B conveniently features a remote volume control allowing adjustment of the entire sound system as well as versatile acoustic controls for perfect room integration.
Our Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) feature, reduces power consumption to less than 0.5 watts by automatically switching the active monitor to standby, when no audio signal has been detected for some time. When it receives an audio signal again, the loudspeaker turns back on.
ISS is fully compliant with the latest EU requirements and the ErP 2013 Directive for electronic devices.
Designed by Genelec's R&D team in co-operation with internationally acclaimed Finnish designer Harri Koskinen, the 5040B subwoofer features an unobtrusive, modern appearance.
The 5040B features a magnetically shielded downward firing 6 1/2" bass driver attached to a die-cast aluminium base plate.
The base plate also serves as the chassis for the 40 Watt amplifier and crossover filter circuitry. The 5040B packs a respectable punch of 98 dB maximum sound pressure level
