The 700 series guitars feature styling and specification driven by the 1000-series guitars but with the exclusive ART pickup system. Designed to capture the guitarʼs full body resonance, ARTʼs ability to faithfully recreate natural tone and dynamics means that the subtle differences between APX and CPX guitars are perfectly recreated, allowing you to pick the guitar that suits your style and know that character will always shine through.

The APX series places emphasis on playability with a stylish thin profile that fits the musicians body. As for cosmetics, the APX700 features a beautiful abalone sound hole ring inlay, ivory fingerboard and head binding, ivory/black body binding, maple bottom inlay, mother-of-pearl APX & Yamaha headstock logos and mother-of-pearl position markers. This model comes in five amazing color variations. The APX700 features the newly developed A.R.T. (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) 1-way preamplifier system. This innovative new preamplifier system utilizes two amazing contact pickups that dramatically reduce feedback while achieving rich, beautiful and natural tones.

The A-Series is built to perform.Whether that means live or in the studio, unplugged  or amplified, these guitars were built to deliver the tone and playability youʼve been  searching for.  Thousands of hours of development, prototyping, evaluations and field-testing combined  with more than 50 years experience in crafting guitars has produced the A-Series, a  guitar that gives you technology where you need it and tradition where you want it.

APX series, highly evaluated for its playability on stage, is now available with all solid with SRT system. In addition to the quick response and attack of APX, solid Rosewood of side and back gives rich sustain. New cosmetics, such as Mahogany wood binding, black button on tuning machine, and the position marks are abalone/ MOP arrows seen in SG3000... it is simple, but gives us high-end appearance. APX1200 is available in Natural and Translucent Black.

Yamahaʼs new proprietary Studio Response Technology (SRT) brings back the natural, ambient sound of an acoustic guitar, and it does it with the signal from the output jack. Using a sound modeling technique that utilizes data obtained through extensive analysis of four acoustic elements that are missing from conventional pickup systems— string and body resonance, ambience, vintage microphone characteristics, and professional micing techniques, SRT delivers a natural, studio-quality acoustic guitar tone. The same tone that, until now, was only attainable by professional recording engineers in the worldʼs finest studios is now easily usable by any player, on-stage or in the studio.Using a sound modeling technique that utilizes data obtained through extensive analysis of four acoustic elements that are missing from conventional pickup systems— string and body resonance, ambience, vintage microphone characteristics, and professional micing techniques, SRT delivers a natural, studio-quality acoustic guitar tone. A sound that guitarists have long dreamed of is now a reality.

SRT Functions
The new SRT system lets you choose from three different high-end mic types as well as two mic positions that let you use techniques similar to those used in a recording studio. The system provides a total of six setting patterns.
The system also allows mixing of pickup and mic sound elements using the BLEND knob, and control of body resonance with the RESONANCE knob to create a wide range of rich, natural sounds.
