The POCKETRAK PR7 is Yamaha's newest, ultra-portable linear PCM recorder that provides effortless high-quality recordings whenever and wherever you need. Equipped with a newly developed crossed XY stereo microphone, the PR7 captures high-resolution stereo recordings, achieving consistent quality and natural sound. The PR7's large onboard XY stereo mics are aligned with the left and right mics on the same axis. Using this configuration, both mics are always equidistant from a sound source, providing perfect localization with no phase shifting. Additionally, the well designed microphone covers enhance the performance of the diaphragm resulting in superb stereo recordings with natural depth and precise stereo imaging.

The PR7 features five recording presets with optimized HPF and dynamics control settings tailored to the varying requirements of different recording environments. The OFF setting is ideal for capturing musical performances, NEAR is suitable for personal instrument practice, BAND is best suited for multi-instrumental performances, FIELD is best for outdoor recordings and SPEECH is for meetings, seminars or other speaking engagements.

Recording time
Recording time in normal mode (16bit/44.1kHz) is approx. 25 track-minutes on the supplied 128MB CF card and 50 track-minutes on a 256MB card. Extended mode (16bit/22.05kHz) doubles the recording time. Note that recording time varies depending on recorded source, punch in/out, undo/redo status, etc.

Multiple units can be daisy-chained over the FireWire bus, or kept in sync using the DIN connectors when recording on multiple USB devices, making iCE-16 the perfect companion for both small and large analogue consoles such as our acclaimed ZED, MixWizard and GL mixers. Plug into your desk Direct Outs or use a mix of Groups and Aux sends to save on channels.

Record

The USB DRIVE is automatically detected and checked by the system. Starting the recording is as simple as pushing a button. Remove and plug the key into a computer to access or transfer the WAV files to any DAW.

Interface

Removing the USB stick or powering up the unit without one enables the USB / FireWire interface. Signals present at the inputs will be sent to the Mac or PC on channels 1-16. WDM/ASIO drivers and USB2.0 class compliance ensure full compatibility with most DAWs, including Logic, Sonar, Cubase and Pro Tools.
