CableCOP – Cable Tester Overview

There are several types of cables used widely in pro audio ? mic cables and
patch cords with 2 or 3 conductors, instrument cables with 2 conductors, basic
speaker cables with 2 conductors and MIDI cables comprised of DIN5 connectors
using 2 conductors.
The CableCOP features a full selection of standard pro audio connectors for testing
all such cables. LEDs on the CableCOP link its various connector terminals and will
only illuminate when the connected ?cable? completes a circuit. As a result you?re
able to tell, at a glance, which cables need to be repaired. Sometimes the problem
can be the cable itself. An LED may also fail to illuminate if a 3-conductor cable
has been wired out-of-phase. As an example, if the Tip of one 1/4? TRS plug on a
(balanced) patch cable were soldered to the same cable conductor as the Ring or
Sleeve of the other 1/4? inch TRS plug.

CableCOP – Cable Tester Specifications:

Power Requirements 9V Battery (included)

This is an on-the-road tool you certainly can't miss in your gearbox! A nifty, handy cabletester, which allows you to check up to six (welding) connections and gives you a visual readout by 2 rows of 6 LED's. The checking itself is done manually per connected pin. A LED will light up to indicate what pin is connected correctly on which side. A short-circuit check with a red LED and audio-warningsignal is also included. On the left and right side you'll find inputs for 6,3 symm. jack, BNC, RCA, 5p. DIN, 5p. XLR, 3p. XLR and Neutrik® Speakon®.

Tests XLR, 1/4 in., 1/8 in., TT, RCA and MIDI connectors. The intelligent, CPU-controlled CT100 accepts virtually any connector type: XLR, mono and TRS phone (1/4 in., 1/8 in., TT), RCA and MIDI. It shows which input pin is connected to which output pin. Separate LEDs indicate proper shield connection and phantom power presence. The CT100 also offers an installed cable test mode and a continuity check plus a test tone generator. Features 3 modes: cable test mode, installed cable test mode, and test tone mode Accepts XLR, mono and stereo TRS phone (1/4 in., 1/8 in., TT), RCA and MIDI Connectors Continuity check Intermittent detect Phantom power detect Grounded shield detect Test tone generation (1 kHz and 440 Hz) Battery operation (requires 2 AA alkaline batteries)
