The Omni-Directional pickup pattern featured in this microphone produces a natural sound and is great for asoustic environments as it picks up sound from all directions (360 degrees around the microphone). This microphone is not a great choice for live applications, as it doesn't feature good feedback rejection like the Cardioid and Hypercardioid pickup patterns. The Omni-Directional pickup pattern is ideal for spoken word applications like podcasting, boardroom or conference miking, choir recording, etc.
Designed, machined, assembled and tested by Audix in the USA, the SCX1O features a 21mm gold vapor capsule miniaturized electronics, and an extremely small footprint. This pencil condenser microphone is great at handling high sound pressure levels of 130 dB and has a smooth uniform frequency response from 40 Hz - 20 kHz.

The super-cardioid e 614 is a permantly polarized condenser microphone
designed for demanding applications which require a wide frequency response,
high SPL, fast transient response and a compact design. With its frequency
response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz, the e 614 is able to capture the full sound of the
instrument, while its super-cardioid pick-up pattern isolates the microphone
from other on-stage signals.
An excellent microphone for percussion instruments, the e 614 is also an ideal
choice for woodwind and string instruments. Its excellent acoustic properties
also make it a valuable tool for home recording.
