The cable is fully shielded with aluminium foil plus drain wire.

| The 7118WH is a high quality microphone cable for balanced, low-impedance applications. Spiral copper wrap plus semiconductor shielding reject EMI and RFI and reduce handling noise for clear, quiet signal transfer. For efficient common mode rejection, the pair of finely stranded oxygen-free copper conductors with a cross section area of 0.22 mm² each is twisted. The thick, hard wearing PVC jacket provides strength, flexibility and abrasion resistance in live, studio and home recording environments.
