Since its founding in 1978, the Finnish company Genelec has been known for its range of active monitor loudspeakers, featuring matched electronic-crossovers and individual amplifiers for each driver. A bi-amplified, two-way speaker suitable for a variety of applications where high-quality sound is needed in a compact space, from near-field and project studio monitoring to surround-sound, high-end installations and multimedia systems. This, the smallest speaker in the Genelec range features features magnetic shielding, aluminium cabinet, active crossover and 2 x 20W amplifiers. The amplifier section features switches for treble tilt, bass roll-off and bass tilt, and has a male XLR input and a female XLR output. It can also be used to feed a subwoofer (7050B recommended) or a further chain of up to 6 x 8020A units in total, with the lead control affecting level of the whole chain. Front-panel mains indicator LED and volume control are neatly styled, with rear IEC power input. The speaker has three methods of mounting: 3 mounting points on the back of the monitor for attaching the supplied IsoPod desktop stand, which allows vertical and horizontal positioning and can be fixed to the optional floor stand using the optional stand plate, threaded holes on the back for Omnimount size 20.5 brackets or the supplied keyhole wall-mount adapter and a three eighths of an inch thread on the base for microphone-stand mounting. Accessories available are a floor stand (speaker vertical or horizontal using IsoPod), stand plate (necessary for use with floor stand) and soft carrying bag for one pair of 8020Aʼs.

Although the same floor stand applies to all 8000 series models of Genelec speakers, each model uses a unique stand plate to allow connection to the stand. Please ensure the correct stand plate is ordered for your model of 8020A, 8030A, 8040A or 8050A speaker.

MYTHO 8 is a two-way reference studio monitor equipped with two separate AB amplifiers - 200 W for the low frequencies and 100 W for the high - unparalleled for low distortion and natural sound. It features a high quality large metal dome tweeter for the best vocal reproduction and a 8” neodymium vented woofer with a large sized 51 mm voice coil that guarantees very high energy for tight and controlled bass reproduction and perfect thermal stability with minimum power compression.

The magnetic circuit features a special air ventilation to reduce air compression, air noises and minimize distortion in large excursion situations. Thanks to the deeper low frequencies reproduced by its 8” woofer, the MYTHO 8 is perfect for medium to large control rooms.
A dedicated high quality DSP is provided on board. The cabinet is made in aluminium, internally braced and reinforced to improve low frequencies behaviour and reduce resonances.
 

The Solo6 Be monitor will surprise you in the very first minutes you spend with it, partly due to its size/extended bass response (40Hz at -3dB). The 6.5" "W” composite sandwich mid-woofer combines neutrality in the midrange, fullness in the midbass register and bass control. Its compactness and the choice of a large front laminar port guarantee easy integration in studios that need a near field monitor without any acoustic compromise. The user settings on the back of the Solo6 Be, combined with its compactness, make it easy to carry and to adjust according to the acoustics of each studio.

MYTHO 6 is a two-way reference studio monitor that features a high quality large metal dome tweeter for the best vocal reproduction and a 6” neodymium vented woofer with a large sized 51 mm voice coil that guarantees very high energy for tight and controlled bass reproduction and perfect thermal stability with minimum power compression.
