BL JRX118S PA Subwoofer Cabinet (18 Inch, 350 Watts)
The RKX118S is a 1x18" compact (passive) subwoofer, rated at 1400 watts peak power capacity and 350 watts continuous. It includes a newly designed JBL 18" woofer with a cast frame and 3" voice-coil. Dimensions: 23.5 x 20.3 x 22“, 71 lbs (32.2 kg).
JBL designed the new JRX100 series for cost-conscious musicians, DJs and other users of live sound reinforcement speakers. All full-range models feature Neutrik? Speakon? and 1/4" input connectors. JRX100 cabinets are constructed of carpet-covered, 3/4" MDF - a material that is structurally and acoustically superior to the particleboard that is used by many competitive products. To minimize distortion, heavy gauge wire is used for inductors and SonicGuard? high-frequency driver protection guards against damage caused by inadvertent overpowering of the system. The JRX115 and JRX112M's innovative, new dual-angle pole socket allows them to be mounted in either a conventional, vertical position, or with a 10 degree down angle. By aiming the speaker down, you get more even audience coverage and reduce the destructive acoustic reflections from walls. JBL constructs the JRX enclosures with advanced adhesives and closely mechanically spaced fasteners, not just glue. They use non-resonant, all metal handles, and an 18-gauge, full metal grille. All JRX100 models have passed the same 100-hour, full rated-power torture test that JBL high-end touring systems must survive. |
The titanium diaphragm compression driver is mated to a 90 degree x 40 degree custom-designed horn. Internal electronics feature an over-built crossover network and overload protection. Connections are dual Neutrik Speakon and 1/4" jacks. The vented SUB 18 and SUB 28 direct radiators have been designed for subwoofer use in active multiway systems. The superior transient response of the classic bass reflex construction is also well suited for medium to large bass arrays. The premium 700W RMS long excursion woofers feature extremely low THD, and the reliable, all-electronic Voice Coil Tracking Protection prevents thermal overload of the 100mm sandwich voice coils. For maximum dynamics, the SUB models can be driven by extremely powerful amplifiers; thermal overload triggers a virtually inaudible 'soft' power reduction.
