Styled in black, the Kali LP-6 V2 is a studio monitor (single monitor) that puts the ability to achieve excellent mixes within anyone's grasp. This monitor helps content creators and professionals deliver exceptional mixes by providing an advanced waveguide for 3D imaging, clear sound reproduction throughout the frequency range, low-noise performance, and sensitivity that reaches levels necessary for creating punchy and fully realized products.
This is the second generation of the Lone Pine series, delivering lower-noise, higher sensitivity, a smoother high-end, and a consistently accurate low-end than the original monitor. Furthermore, the Boundary EQ settings have all been updated based on user-feedback, delivering tuning options more tailored for real-world scenarios.
The 3-D Imaging Waveguide allows you to hear a 3-D soundstage from a stereo pair of speakers, so you will have to purcahse an additional monitor so you have two to use the Waveguide. By matching the shape of the waveguide to the interactions of the HF and LF drivers, this waveguide produces a stereo image that is wider, taller, and deeper than the space where the speakers are placed. The LP-6 accomplishes this by ensuring that the speaker's reflected sound matches its direct sound. Every time you hear a loudspeaker, you're hearing both the direct sound from the speaker, and reflections from the speaker's signal bouncing off of objects in the room. When those reflections are congruent with the direct sound from the speaker, listeners perceive a better sound overall, and are able to make out very subtle details like where microphones are placed in a room. When done well, the stereo image will sound three-dimensional.
All of this should give you a high degree of confidence in your mix. It allows you to mix faster, and produce better mixes overall.
The voice coil on the LP-6 allows the speaker to have very high excursion, resulting in clearer sound with lower harmonic distortion, and a high degree of detail.
On most port tubes, air leaves at different speeds from different points of the opening, creating noisy turbulence. This turbulence can be heard as chuffing, or an audible air sound coming from the monitor. This sound will add to the noise floor and obscure the details of the low end.
The port tube on the LP-6 was designed to ensure that all of the air leaves the port tube at the same velocity. This helps add to the low-end response of the speaker, while keeping the bass clean, tight, and devoid of extra noise.
The LP-6 is capable of 85 dB continuous output, with 20 dB of dynamic headroom from as far as 2.2m. This makes it an excellent choice as a main, side surround, or overhead speaker in most small-to-medium-sized mixing rooms.
Bass on the LP-6 is delivered by a magnet and voice coil larger than much of the competition at comparable price points. This gives you more accurate bass response that extends lower, so you can dial in exactly the low-end sound you need. Nothing is over-represented, and the bass that is present on your track will come through with clarity and punch.
Kali's team came up with boundary compensation EQ settings at the Village Recorder in Los Angeles to help you get the optimum sound for where you need to put your speakers. Combined with the LF and HF trims, these boundary settings will ensure that the speakers sound their best no matter what room you're mixing in.
There are EQ settings for:
- Free Space
- Speakers on stands, against a wall
- Speakers on a desk, away from a wall
- Speakers on a desk, against a wall
- Speakers on a console meter bridge
- Speakers on a studio desk
The integrated 40W + 40W Class-D Power amp delivers clean, reliable power that's optimized to this speaker. The new 2nd Wave amplifier platform delivers all this with significantly lower idle noise, and better sensitivity than the original version.
The LP-6 features balanced XLR and TRS inputs, as well as an unbalanced RCA input. The RCA input can be set to -10 dBu sensitivity when you're using consumer devices like a laptop or smartphone's headphone jack.
The new LP-6 V2 is part of Kali's 2nd Wave of loudspeakers. 2nd Wave products draw on 3 years of R&D for across-the-board improvements. A new amplifier platform allows for 12 dB less self noise, while input sensitivity has been increased by 3 dB, for +3 dB SPL overall compared to the original.
The tuning has been refined for smoother HF response, and the boundary EQs have been updated to reflect common real-world use cases. Physical improvements include lighter transducer cones for better transient response and upgraded cabinet construction for greater reliability.

S2X
The S2X brings together the virtues of the ʽclassicalʼ 7” woofer and tweeter combination by using ADAM innovative technologies and top-class materials.
The HexaCone 7” woofer is driven by a sophisticated magnet system with a 2” voice coil creating a greater linear excursion. This produces more dynamics than one would assume in a monitor of such small proportions. As a result, in addition to the unsurpassed audio quality of the X-ART and A/B amplifier combination, this monitor surprises the listener with a very powerful, deep, but always tight and precise low end.
Review at a glance: "Sonic sensation“
“The ADAM Audio S2X can convince in all areas, concerning the sound as well as the workmanship, and are worth every Euro. […] a no-compromise tool for all who mean serious business, whether in music or postproductions.” (www.96kHz.de, 03/2010)
“We started off with a classical string quartet recording and let´s just say right away that the S2Xs floored us. Several adjectives spring to mind [...] - wide open, transparent, effortless, breathtaking realistic, loud, dynamic, involving... [...] If you close your eyes and continue listening, the S2Xs seem to ‚disappearʽ almost entirely. [...] you gradually become less aware that you´re listening to speakers because they´re like an open window on the music itself. [...] Result: These monitors are up there with the best we´ve tried so far.” (MusicTech, 01/2010)

PRICE PER UNIT The ultimate main monitors The main monitors S6X and S7A Mk2 are designed for large control rooms and film studios. They present a completely new, impressive concept: to transport the unique realism of the ADAM monitors at a very high SPL level. In accordance with ADAMʼs main goal to achieve the best possible authenticity in music reproduction, any overemphasis of the bass frequencies should be avoided. Furthermore, it is essential for neutral sound characteristics at high volumes to achieve a wide dispersion in the horizontal plane and a somewhat narrower dispersion in the vertical plane, thus reducing reflections from the ceiling, the floor or a mixing console. Less reflection means superior imaging and better localization, facilitating the best possible transportability of mixes across the widest range of playback systems. Advanced DʽAppolito-array The arrangement of the seven discrete loudspeakers facilitates a gradual transition of the chassis dimensions. One of the most important aspects of these monitorʼs new approach is the horizontal symmetry of the drivers, which could be referred to as advanced D´Appolito array. If the drivers are filtered properly there are – besides the dispersion characteristics mentioned previously – two more advantageous results: - There is an absence of any sudden change in directivity with frequency, leading to harmonic dispersion behavior throughout the audio band. The absence of sudden changes in directivity is not visible in a frequency plot, but clearly audible - especially with a full range of materials, from single complex sources such as the human voice to the wide sonic palette of large orchestras.
- The dynamic capabilities of the monitor are distributed over the audio band more equally, and louder recording or mixdown sessions with SPL´s of 120 dB are handled without offending the ear.
Impulse Coupling In order to get a precise and undistorted reproduction, all drive units are mounted on an ultra stiff 25 mm thick aluminum honeycomb plate, which is acoustically dead - thereby providing an extremely mechanically stable bridge to the cabinet (IC). As the drivers are much better fixed this way their time behavior (and consequently their clarity) is audibly and measurably improved. Amplifiers Both the S6X and the S7A Mk2 ADAM use the new generation of switching amps and power supplies. These are combined in an extremely powerful (1000 and 1500 W rms respectively) yet cool amplifier assembly. Together with the built in overload protection circuits these amplifiers will run reliably and at constant safe operating temperatures not possible with conventional designs. The amplifiers are of extremely low output impedance, leading to a damping factor >4.000, enabling them to strictly control the motion of the drive units. The front panel Numerous controls on the front panel introduce a new degree of control for main monitors. Along with the input gain, there are level controls for each of the four drivers, shelving filters on both ends of the frequency spectrum, and three full parametric EQs (20-200HZ) that can be used to combat standing waves in the control room. The EQ can be bypassed individually or as a group so that their overall effect can be analyzed in direct comparison to the unaffected signal. In large film score mixing rooms, it may be desirable to have a representation of the sound in the theatres. To meet the ISO 2969 Standard, the Dolby™ X-curve has to be applied. Using pink noise, the X-curve engages a 3 dB per octave roll-off above 2 kHz. Both the S6X and S7A Mk2 have a switch that activates this filter, eliminating the need for external processing during the film mix. S7A Mk2 The S7A Mk2 is the ʽbig brotherʼ of the S6X and ADAMʼs most spectacular studio monitor to date. With a whopping combined 1500 W of onboard power (rms), this monitor reaches SPL peaks of 128 dB at a distance of 1 meter. The big bass diaphragms produce even more volume even at lowest pitches down to 20 Hz. Both 15” subwoofers are driven by 500 W rms each, while 250 W rms units are powering all the other frequency bands. The benchmark Quite simply, we feel that the S7A Mk2 is the benchmark of what is possible in the state of the art full range active professional monitoring. It incorporates all of the ADAM inventions and designs, as well as the best materials available. This fusion of power and capacity with precision and accuracy results in unparalleled performance in professional monitoring. The S7A Mk2 is ADAMʼs contribution to the best possible studio monitor available. The proof is in the listening – we encourage you to hear for yourself. The compact 8030B is a powerful bi-amplified nearfield 2-way monitor system ideal for project and home studios, workstations, installations, and surround sound monitoring.
Our Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) feature, reduces power consumption to less than 0.5 watts by automatically switching the active monitor to standby, when no audio signal has been detected for some time. When it receives an audio signal again, the loudspeaker turns back on.
ISS is fully compliant with the latest EU requirements and the ErP 2013 Directive for electronic devices.
Every Genelec 8030B monitor comes with an Iso-PodTM(Isolation Positioner/DecouplerTM) as standard. The Iso-PodTM is a clever mounting stand, which allows the system to perform in either the vertical or horizontal position.
It also enables the acoustic axis of the monitor to be aimed at the listener, while acoustically and mechanically decoupling the monitor from the surface it is resting on.
If very large sound levels and a low cutoff frequency are required it can be complemented in stereo applications with the 7050B subwoofer and in surround applications with the 7060B subwoofer.
The MDETM (Minimum Diffraction EnclosureTM) enclosure has rounded edges and a gently curved front and sides to achieve a very smooth frequency response and superb imaging qualities with minimized cabinet edge diffraction.
Like all Genelec 8000 Series monitors, the 8030B also features the advanced Genelec Directivity Control WaveguideTM (DCWTM), a revolutionary flow-optimized reflex port design, optimized die-cast aluminium structure with extremely durable semi-matt finish and acoustically optimized metal grilles.
