A rubber contact strip consists of 12 contacts and covers an octave. For complete replacement of the rubber contact strips in a keyboard with 88 keys 7 contact strip + 4 pins are needed. The remaining 4 contacts can be easily separated from a rubber contact strip with 12 contacts. A notch is provided in the rubber contact strip after every four contacts for this purpose.
