The EQ231-GSP is a highly versatile combination of dual 31 band 1/3 Octave
Graphic Equaliser, LF and HF variable frequency Shelving Equaliser, variable
High and Low Pass filters and Limiter-Noise Gate.
The band pass filters are based around precision minimum phase active RC
networks to deliver superior dynamic range and signal to noise performance.
An optional Inductor board may be specified for the top eight frequencies (4kHz-20kHz)
to further improve noise and phase linearity. Long throw faders provide maximum
sensitivity and control of 12dB cut and boost at 31 ISO centre frequencies covering
the entire audio spectrum (20Hz to 20kHz).
The Shelving Equaliser section offers continuous adjustment of boost/cut and
corner frequency. This allows an engineer to tailor the sound without altering the
graphics settings. The High and Low Pass filters use 4th order bi- quadratic topology
to offer 24dB/octave slope and superior stability. The Dynamics section uses a fast
RMS detector with soft-knee characteristics. The Limiter features a Threshold control
and 3-segment gain reduction display. The Noise Gate features a Threshold Control
and Gate Closed indicator.
The EQ231-GSP has electronically balanced inputs and outputs on XLR, with front
panel phase reverse switches on the outputs. An optional Transformer Output module
is available, featuring Active Distortion Cancellation circuitry that reduces to negligible
levels the LF distortion inherent in Passive Transformer designs. Power relays ensure
silent power on/off and also automatic bypassing of the unit when switched off. All
switches are indicated with status LED’s. Each channel incorporates an input level
control with clip LED and may be individually bypassed.
The EQ231-GSP is built in accordance with Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC)
regulations encompassed within the European ”CE’ mark. This guarantees problem
free integration into audio systems.

The Rane ME 15S microGraphic Equalizer is a two-channel, 2/3-octave design with 20 mm sliders in a single rack space unit. It features a Range switch for high slider resolution in the ±6 dB mode, equivalent resolution to 45 mm sliders found on the DEQ 60L. The ±12 dB mode provides a wide range of control over system audio.

The active filter sections feature Raneʼs innovative constant-Q (constant bandwidth) design. Constant-Q means the bandwidth of each individual filter is guaranteed to be narrow enough to prevent unwarranted interaction between filters, yet wide enough to produce exactly the type of correction curve demanded by even the most unusual acoustic surroundings. This differs dramatically from conventional designs of the past, encumbered with the unfortunate characteristic of changing bandwidth when changing boost/cut amounts.

Front panel controls and indicators include an overall rotary Level control for each channel as well as Overload indicators. Passive pushbutton Bypass switches feature LED indicators, avoiding ambiguity by being on when the unit is Bypassed. (A passive Bypass switch requires no power to operate. This allows completion of the audio path should power fail in the ME 15S.)

Inputs and Outputs are electronically balanced designs, capable of unbalanced operation when required. They accept and drive all possible signal levels into normal load impedances. Balanced applications choose between the XLR or 1/4" Tip-Ring-Sleeve connectors. Unbalanced sources also may tie to the ME 15S through mono 1/4" connectors (no ring connection).

Features
  • Constant-Q Bandwidth Design
  • Overall Level Controls and Passive Bypass Switches
  • 20 mm Filter Slide Controls with ±6 dB or ±12 dB Slider Range
  • Infrasonic, Ultrasonic, & RFI Filters
  • Balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS Inputs and Outputs
  • Universal internal switching power supply (100-240 VAC)

SONIC EXCELLENCE
The Avalon AD2055 Pure Class A music equalizer is the most powerful, low noise
parametric equalizer available today. Designed to optimize absolute signal integrity
and musical performance, the AD2055 combines the best of active and passive filter
topologies with sonic excellence unequaled by lesser designs. The AD2055 is the
perfect solution for two buss music-program equalization, special instrument EQ and
FX applications and ultra high performance mastering studio's.

practical user features and rugged hardware designed to deliver true high performance
audio for many years.

PASSIVE-ACTIVE FILTER DESIGN
Avalon equalizers feature the unique combination of both active and passive filter EQ designs.
This special combination enables the AD2055 to deliver high speed transient detail at the
operational extremes of real-world equalization demands. The passive high and low bands offer
alternate musical tone range to the full function active parametric mid bands. Passive equalizers
have long been a favorite with music lovers around the world.  Full bodied, powerful (up to +/-32dB,
64dB range !) and sweet frequency selections are the benefits of the passive high-low EQ bands.
The full bandwidth twin mid bands provide variable frequency selection (X10 frequency multipliers
for very wide range), variable Q (width) and amplitude control.

MINIMUM SIGNAL PATH DESIGN
Avalon's advanced true symmetry design offers high-voltage, large headroom, extended bandwidth
and very low noise. The use of 100% discrete, Pure Class A signal amplifiers give the serious music
professional unlimited sonic character and a natural harmonic detail that enhances the program
material and becomes one with the music itself. The Avalon AD2055 breathes life!
