About the Mackie Thump 212XT :
A very versatile powered speaker
Mackie’s Thump 212XT powered PA speaker offers serious performance with a reasonable price tag. The Thump 212XT uses a 2-channel 1400-watt amplifier to power its 12″ woofer and 1″ horn-loaded tweeter. Built-in time alignment and crossover circuitry result in maximum performance from the two drivers. To make sure the show will go on, Mackie incorporates thermal and power protection circuits so the drivers can’t get pushed too hard.
Connect and control
The Thump 212XT features a 2-channel input mixer with independent volume controls, so you won’t need a separate mixer for small gigs. Along with the Bluetooth connection, the mixer inputs can handle microphone, instrument, and line-level signals. A headphone-type 3.5mm TRS input lets you easily plug your portable player into this powered speaker. An XLR output provides a mixed signal so you can daisy-chain additional speakers for larger events.
Wireless features
The Thump 212XT lets you wirelessly stream music from your compatible device. You can also use your phone or tablet to adjust the settings and control your Thump 212XT wirelessly using Mackie’s Thump Connect™ 2 Mobile App. In addition, you can use this Bluetooth connection to stream to and control a second Thump XT speaker up to 328 feet away.
Note: The 328-foot (100-meter) range works with your compatible device running Bluetooth 4.2 or later. The range of earlier-version Bluetooth devices will be shorter.
Voicing modes
You can set the EQ contour of your Thump 212XT for different uses:
- Music — when playing back full-range recordings
- Live — when reinforcing a band, usually along with a subwoofer
- Club — bass-heavy dance music without needing an additional sub
- Monitor — when used as a floor wedge on stage
Versatile applications
The Thump 212XT ‘s tough polypropylene cabinet includes four handles for portability and a perforated metal grille to protect the speaker. A mounting pole insert allows you to install this Thump speaker up on a tripod stand or on a speaker pole mounted over a sub, like a Mackie Thump 115S or 118S powered subwoofer. The speaker’s angled design also lets you use it as a floor monitor for musicians in a live performance. Standard M10 rigging points let you fly this speaker in a large PA installation.
