Info Marshall 2551BV Silver Jubilee, guitar cabinet, 280W, 16/4 ohms mono & 8 ohms stereo, 4x 12" Celestion Vintage 30 speaker, dimensions: 770 x 755 x 365mm, weight: 41,4kg.Marshall MF-280A 280W Guitar Speaker Cabinet The MF280 (280W) and MF400 (400W) cabinets are specially engineered to reproduce the balanced mid range and huge bottom end that are a pre-requisite for extreme hard rock and nu-metal sounds, these cabinets feature: - Sonically optimised Celestion loudspeaker designs - Pro-gauge internal wiring - Increased internal volume - Metal logo and piping In keeping with all legendary Marshall cabinets the MF 4x12" cabinets are not only ready for the sonic demands of a high performance head like the MF350, but also the extreme physical abuse they may receive on the road. We recommend the MF280A (angled) and B (base) for full stack operation and the MF400A or B for half stack operation. Stack versus Half Stack: The MODE FOUR cabinets can be used either as a full stack (two cabinets) or half stack (one cabinet) configuration. The rig you choose is a matter of personal taste and as always when it comes to sound we recommend you try both to see which suits your style best. Below is a guide to the major attributes of each: Full Stack: Enhanced on stage spread. More 'cut through' due to accentuated treble and high mids. Iconic stage presence. Half Stack: More controllable spread of sound on stage (especially base type) Convenient and portable. Half Stack Options: Whether you choose an angled or base half stack configuration is a personal choice between the different tonal qualities of each set up. The MF400A (angled) is, in keeping with other angled 4x12" cabinets, tonally more aggressive than the base option. The angled cabinet is the usual choice for those who want a more prominent upper mid and treble response that really cuts through in a live situation. Alternatively, the MF400B (base) delivers a more even mid range with less spread of the aggressive treble response. Marshall 4x12" base cabinets are more often used by professionals as they have a more focused bottom end and a smoother mid range and treble response. They are often easier to deal with in terms of sound reinforcement and monitoring in a live situationMarshall 1960B at a Glance:
  • Incredibly flexible 4x12 straight cab
  • Well-Focused and Uncluttered Sound
  • Offers that low-end thump.
  • Sonically speaking, nothing compares to a Marshall amp
  • Rugged and ready for the road
The Ultimate in Flexibility To ensure the ultimate in flexibility, the 1960A (angled) and the 1960B (straight), is switchable between Mono (4 or 16 Ohms) and Stereo (8 Ohms per side). The two Mono impedance options provide extra amp matching capability while the cabinets' stereo capability makes them ideal for rack systems which typically run in stereo. Clear and True The 1960B produces a loud, well-focused and uncluttered sound with a tight, full low end and a crisp, clear top. It projects well across the guitar's entire tonal range and its clarity makes it ideal for players who like using a fair amount of effects such as reverb, chorus or delay as it doesn't "mask" or "muddy-up" such FX. Its all-around versatility and relatively "uncolored" nature makes this one of Marshall's best selling cab. It represents the sound of the guitar and head most accurately. The Marshall 1960 cabinets are the best selling amp cabinets in the world and are standard on stages everywhere for their sound and rugged construction. While not complicated electronically, the effects of their materials, construction and speakers make the 1960s the choice of players everywhere and have made them the industry standard to this day. Offers That Low-End Thump B (Base) cabinets offer some sonic differences. A straight cab sounds more focused and has more low-end thump. The additional size gives the cabinet a lower resonant frequency for more low-end. All speakers facing the same direction gives a more focused sound. Many players prefer to use only the B cabs, even when they are on stage with a full stack. Zakk Wylde (Ozzy's guitarist) uses only the B cabs because of the tighter low end and because (believe it or not) he values his hearing and the sound from the B cab doesn't hit him directly in the head. Sonically Superior The only choice for serious musicians. Nothing compares to Marshall cabinets in terms of awesome tone and projection. Both visually and aurally, Marshall 4x12 cabs are indeed rock and roll history in a stack! Ready For Your Gig - Wherever That Might Be! Roadworthiness is a vital prerequisite in the world of relentless touring and as Marshall's 40 years of cabinet building attests, Marshall cabinets are definitely built to stand the test of time! Their highly skilled craftsmen construct these 4x12s from the finest materials available - 15mm birch plywood with precision 'finger locked' (comb) joints, tough cotton backed PVC covering, heavy duty hardware and the highest quality fittings. Weighing in at around 80 lbs, the JCM1960B is made of 15mm birch plywood (except for the back panel, which is medium density fiberboard) and built for tone, projection, and durability. The majority of cabinet construction is done by hand. Marshall 1960B Features:
  • 300W 4x12 straight 4/16 ohm, mono- 8 ohm stereo.
  • 4 x 75 Watt 'G12T-75' speakers (1960B/B).
  • Black grille cloth / white piping
  • Large white logo
  • Black elephant grain vinyl
Featuring two Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, the PPC212 is in essence our classic 4×12 slashed in half. The large internal volume of the sealed enclosure makes the PPC212 ideal for players looking for the the fattest possible tone when a 4×12″ would be too large. Many players choose to stack two PPC212 cabs for ease of load-in, also giving them the flexibility of using just one for smaller venues. Made in England from high density 13 ply 18mm Baltic birch plywood, the PPC212 is fitted with steel hardware to withstand the rigours of the road. Our unique skid runners fitted to the base helps to acoustically couple our cabinets to the stage for a fuller low end response.

Vintage 30 Back in 1986 a new breed of hard rock player was on the rise. To meet the demands of the players and their increasingly ʽhot-roddedʼ amplifiers, we set out to develop a modern speaker, capable of handling much more power and overdrive. To achieve this, we coupled our ʽHʼ magnet (the closest in performance to Alnico) with a new cone and voice coil employing contemporary materials. Our most revealing speaker, the Vintage 30 features enormously detailed and complex overtones, a warm low-end, a famously rich vocal mid-range and a beautifully detailed top-end. Used singly to reveal the complexities in hand-wired boutique amps, or in quartets for a wonderfully intricate vintage 3D crunch, the Vintage 30 sound has been captured on thousands of recordings from a diverse range of notable players including Slash, Steve Stevens and Peter Frampton.
