When tasting wine, it is important that a comparison is as neutral as possible. The same applies to selecting loudspeakers. To accurately judge sound characteristics, it is essential to listen to different loudspeakers under the same conditions.
Comfortable loudspeaker routing with variable level control for an uncompromising comparison on the sales floor, along with multi-monitor and multi-room applications, are just some of the ways the GrandAudition MK2 can be effectively put to use.
GrandAudition MK2 lets you connect 16 individual loudspeakers or eight loudspeaker pairs and up to eight subwoofers - all with balanced line-level XLR connectors and housed in two 19\" rack units. Depending on how you want to use GrandAudition MK2, the outputs can be selected either individually or as stereo pairs via an intuitive browser-based app or from the unit itself.
Thereby you can choose to just switch between loudspeakers or freely configure any output combination you want, making it not only the ideal solution for a loudspeaker presentation, but also an excellent choice as a central-control-unit for trade fairs, in laboratories and for multi-room sound distribution.
Source material is supplied from a mixer, CD player or digital audio workstation through two balanced XLR inputs - with volume control, of course. But that\'s not all. GrandAudition MK2 is also equipped with a built-in USB media player on which reference titles can be accessed in WAV, AIF, FLAC, MP3 and OGG data formats.
Highlight of GrandAudition MK2
The browser-based remote can be controlled on a tablet or laptop, offering maximum operating convenience. Ethernet and WLAN-capable devices can be used for complete configuration and control of the unit, including channel naming, media player, and other practical functions.
The ability to individually adjust the level for each output and its quick and noiseless switching mechanism, makes it possible to accurately compare loudspeakers and help you reliably guide your customers to select the right loudspeaker. Routing applications that use different levels for each output can also be set up, and a fully analogue signal path with the highest quality is also of course guaranteed with Palmer.
If necessary, you can cascade units to triple the impressive number of 16 channels plus 8 outputs and thus manage even the largest routing scenarios for monitors, such as in presentation areas. You can also use the subwoofer outputs to connect additional loudspeakers without experiencing any technical drawbacks.
In addition to powered loudspeakers, passive loudspeakers can be incorporated with power amps. Signals can also be distributed over multiple line outputs for other applications, for example, by connecting as many as 24 headphone amplifiers to one source signal - an invaluable aid in conference technology and at trade fairs. And to top it all off, GrandAudition MK2 performs remarkably well in measuring laboratories.
In short, GrandAudition MK2, with its clearly arranged features and ease of use, offers comfortable loudspeaker routing with professional sound neutrality.

EC-2 Superb Audio Quality Active microphone and line signal splitting has a number of benefits over using passive splitters: primarily these are improved sound quality, noise figures comparable to the best microphone inputs, and increased resistance to RFI. About the MSX 32 With these benefits in mind, the ARX MSX 32 Active Microphone/Line Splitter has been developed to deliver the performance required by the increasing complexity of today?s standards of audio production. The MSX 32 consists of eight channels of actively buffered ultra low noise Microphone/Line Splitter. Each of these channels has four electronically Balanced splits ? two outputs on the rear panel for Main and Monitor, plus two more output splits on the front panel. All splits have the option of transformer balancing if so specified. Each channel has a ?20 dB pad switch plus silently switchable 48V Phantom power with indicator LED. A PFL switch and 6 LED metering enables each channel to be easily checked with headphones for signal monitoring, and also for line tracing when troubleshooting. Gain through the MSX 32 can be set individually by the small DIP switches on the rear of each channel, from 0dB through to +40 dB in 10 dB stepsA ?Link? switch links each channel to the previous one, providing an ultimate maximum of 32 Outputs from a single input. An indicator LED shows when this is active. A Clip LED indicates imminent signal overload through the channel, and a numbered marker panel on the front provides a space where individual channel connections can be noted. Number stickers are provided to give each channel an individual number for up to 40 channels when multiple MSX32s are being used.Internally, powerful RF input filtering removes both common mode and differential interference at ultrasonic frequencies and above. High CMRR is achieved by the use of precision components throughout. Advanced user options include internally jumper linking Inputs to Main outputs, and Ground lifting Output Pins 1 as required. Internal Power Supply The MSX 32?s internal toroidal transformer based power supply is triple shielded to get the maximum benefit from the ultra low noise design of the splitter circuitry. An illuminated power switch on the front panel provides visual confirmation of AC power connection to the unit. The headphone output and the 6 LED PFL metering are both mounted on the right hand side of the front panel. Rear panel connectors enable this function to be linked when using multiple MSX 32 units. To sum up, this feature packed two RU device is the answer wherever transparent signal buffering and routing is required.

In today's recording and sound reinforcement environments, the need for multiple channels of high quality, easy to use compression is growing rapidly. The new dbx® 1046 is designed to provide the audio professional with just that: 4 channels of great sounding dbx compression for a variety of applications. Incorporating the industry standard dbx designs and the latest available manufacturing techniques, the dbx 1046 provides pristine sonic quality with that classic dbx sound.
The 1046 provides 4 channels of smooth classic dbx OverEasy® or Hard Knee compression that are perfectly suited for use on individual tracks of your multitrack recorder, and in virtually all applications the separate channels can be individually interfaced and used for entirely independent purposes. Additionally the newly developed PeakStopPlus™ is ideal for protecting your system from the oppressive peaks that can take out valuable drivers in your sound reinforcement rig or studio monitors.
All four channels have the following controls:
Threshold - allows you to set the level at which the compressor starts affecting the gain
OverEasy - allows you to select between soft compression for overall gain control or Hard Knee compression based on the characteristics of the original dbx 160.
Ratio - allows you to set the slope of gain reduction affecting the signal over the threshold level.
Input/Output Meter - allows you to set the meter to check the input and output levels for maximum signal-to-noise ratio and best level matching.
Output Gain - allows you to add make-up gain or to adjust the output level for that channel to match the next device's input gain.
Bypass - hard wire bypass allows you to hear how the compressor is affecting your signal.
PeakStopPlus - allows you to set the maximum signal level you want to pass through this channel. While it's virtually impossible to eliminate distortion, the PeakStopPlus circuit does it gracefully and effectively with minimal distortion.
Stereo Link - allows you to link channels 1&2 and 3&4 for two channels of true stereo compression.
All four channels feature balanced gold plated XLR and 1/4" inputs and outputs, and switchable +4dBu or -10dBV operating level to interface each individual channel with any other device.
So whether you need to control the level, placement in the mix, or overall characteristics of 4 independent signals or control the gain leveling on a couple of stereo pairs, the dbx 1046 is for you.
- Four independent channels of operation, stereo linkable in two pairs
- PeakStopPlus™ limiting control for setting maximum allowable level regardless of compressor settings
- Independent Threshold and ratio controls
