The Palmer PLB2X8 is a dual-channel, strictly reactive load (load box). A load box is a substitute for a speaker. It ensures that tube amps are connected to the correct load on the output, thus eliminating the risk of amplifier damage.
The PLB2X8 is a perfect addition to speaker simulators that do not have a built-in load (load box) (for example: PDI09, PGA05 and PDI05).
The PLB2X8 is also useful in conjunction with guitar amps that have a line out or filter out connection. In this case, the PLB2X8 permits silent operation of the amplifier with simultaneous use of the line/filter output.

Special DI box with loadbox for guitars. The integrated load resistor permits tube amplifiers up to approximately 120 W to be connected to the PGA04, bypassing a loudspeaker. A jack socket (unbalanced) and balanced XLR connector are available for direct pickup of the signal. Palmer Power Attenuator - Control the volume of your guitar amp
The PDI06 is a power attenuator for live applications. The device is connected between the amplifier output and the speaker cabinet. It makes it possible to use the popular power stage distortion of tube amplifiers while reducing the associated high volume level. This permits practical volume reduction in six increments from 100% to 18% for stage and practice room situations. An additional level makes the speaker completely mute; the PDI06 then functions as a LOAD BOX and absorbs the entire output power of the amplifier.
This mode of operation is useful, for example, when connecting an amplifier equipped with a speaker cabinet emulation directly to the mixing desk using an existing line-out and loud volume levels in the recording booth are undesirable. The unit has an input for the speaker signal from the amplifier an output for connecting a speaker cabinet.

The PDI03 Palmer speaker simulator combines load impedance, a signal splitter and DI box especially designed for guitars. All functions are optimised for live and recording applications.
Instead of being connected to a loudspeaker, the PDI03 is connected directly to the amplifier output. The signal is no longer picked up by a microphone, but after passing through a special filter section is fed directly into a mixing console, tape recorder, etc. This permits power amplifiers to be operated to saturation without troublesome volume problems.
Two switches select between the 9 filter presets simulating various types of speakers and enclosures. Open back 2 x 12'' combo or 4 x 12'' cabinet characteristics and the punch of a full-out stack with a graphic EQ ''V'' setting can be selected as well as ''American'' or ''British'' speakers and ultra brightness.
Four paralleled unfiltered outputs are available for further processing. Both filter and line out level are adjustable.
For live monitoring, speakers may be connected while the reactive load is automatically switched off. Power handling capacity is 100W RMS without speakers.
