The Sontronics STC-10 is a cardioid pencil condenser microphone that is based on the companyʼs STC-1.

While the STC-1 accepts alternate capsules with different polar patterns from Sontronics, the company makes no mention of compatibility with the STC-10. This leads us to believe that the capsule is not interchangeable, which likely allows the microphone to be priced lower than its predecessor.

The STC-10 features switches for a pad (-10 dB) and low-cut filter (at 75 Hz) on its front.

According to Sontronics, the STC-10 is designed to sound similar to the STC-1, at a lower cost. The company does not go into specifics, but some examples of areas they were able to cut costs were in accessories and expandability. The STC-10 ships with a mic clip and windscreen, though a shockmount and padded case are available for purchase separately.

Cardioid Condenser with 10dB Attenuator and 3 Position Low-Cut Filter

One of the world's great studio microphones, the SM81 provides precise, detailed sound reproduction, is excellent for studio recording, and is rugged enough for live sound reinforcement.

  • A standard for acoustic instruments, including guitar and cymbals
  • Selectable, low-frequency response -- either flat, 6dB/octave roll-off, or 18 dB/octave roll-off
  • Built-in, switchable 10 dB attenuator for use in high SPL situations
  • Phantom power only
  • Windscreen included
  • Low noise and high output clipping
  • Cardioid condenser
  • Frequency response: 20 to 20,000 Hz
NT3 - Versatile & Dependable Stylish and modern, the NT3 is a studio and location workhorse. With both 48V phantom and internal 9V battery operation, this R?DE is at home anywhere. Intended for studio, stage and location work, this versatile handheld or stand mounted microphone incorporates a true externally polarized condenser (hyper- cardioid polar response) transducer with an internal capsule shock mounting system, and an ultra-low noise electronic circuit that has a high immunity to R.F. interference. Incorporating a rugged welded and heat-treated mesh head and all metal body. The NT3 is supplied in a zip pouch with a windshield, stand mount and thread adaptor. C 568 B

Compact, short shotgun microphone
Integrated, switchable bass cut filter minimizes mechanical noise
Operates on phantom power

High directivity and wide frequency response in a relatively short shotgun make this
microphone a perfect tool for theater, sound reinforcement, and film/TV applications.
Due to its compact and lightweight design, the C 568 B is ideal for camera mount
applications. Below 500 Hz it functions as a hypercardioid microphone; above 500 Hz
the acoustic interference tube introduces increasing directivity. A switchable 12 dB/
octave 120 Hz bass cut filter effectively suppresses rumble and wind noise. The rugged,
all-metal body contains the built-in preamp. Phantom powering (9?52 V) required; foam
windscreen and stand adapter included.
