Reveal 8D
A set of DIP switches on the rear control panel of the new Reveal D Active monitors
allow the selection of an optimum speaker response for real life and often difficult
monitoring situations so that the frequency response at the listener?s ears is always
as linear and flat as possible. Reveal monitors can therefore be optimised for varying
listening distances in difficult acoustic spaces; varying meter bridge positions, against
and adjacent to walls or reflecting surfaces, in corners, in corners on shelves or brackets,
table top / space restricted PC/Mac based sound editing environments and stand mounted
or soffit mounted configurations.

MAIN FEATURES
From the front:
40mm MDF sculpted baffle ? stiff, heavy and rigid and minimises diffraction.
Recessed drive units flush with the baffle surface ? minimises diffraction.
New tweeter has wide band design extending the amplitude response beyond
20kHz audibility to 50kHz to correct the phase response from 8kHz to 20kHz
within the audible band. This preserves the harmonic structure of sounds and
the stability of the stereo image.
Smooth tweeter faceplate contours prevent diffraction and cavity effects.
10 point fixing maximises contact between drive unit and baffle.
New design bass units have aluminium flux control rings around the voice coils
and copper caps on the pole pieces ? linearises the voice coil motional impedance
to reduce non linear (3rd order) distortion products caused by varying voice coil
inductance.
Bass unit development using Klippell? analysis equipment to minimise offsets
and linearise the suspension components.
On/Mute (energy saving mode) via the Tannoy logo push switch.
LED indicator shows Active/Energy Saving modes.
From the side:
18mm MDF cabinet construction provides stiffness and minimises colouration.
Internal construction braces the sides and rear of the cabinet against the rear
of the bass driver to provide a rigid reactive mass for the moving cone assembly.
Ensures fast tight bass response and clear midrange.
Front baffle and rear panel tongued and grooved into the cabinet as a mechanical
interlock for safety if wall mounted.
From the rear:
Double insulated to prevent ground loops ? no safety earth required.
CSA/CE/CCC/CB full safety approvals including China.
Spare fuse in IEC mains connector.
On/Off mains isolator switch.
Substantial heat sinking for long term cool running and 24/7 reliability.
XLR and 1/4? jack Combi connector for balanced input.
Switch adjacent to XLR selects digital or analogue input.
RCA input for SPDIF with 75 Ohm terminating impedance.
2nd RCA for SPDIF output for slaving a stereo pair.
Yellow LED indicator lights up when digital lock is achieved.
3-way switch selects which channel of the SPDIF stream is decoded,
marked Left/Right/Mono. Switching is post 2 channel DAC.
Trim/Gain control over +6dB/-12dB range reference 0dBV (0.775V)
input for full rated output.
Trim/Gain control works on SPDIF input post DAC.
Switch selection of 12dB/8ve 80Hz hi-pass filter for use with AV subwoofers.
First bank of 10 DIP switches controls LF alignment, mid/near/close
field and half/quarter/eighth space compensation.
Second bank of DIP switches controls mid band and HF shelving trim.
Note that the DIP switch flat setting is shown on the back panel artwork.
Small hole to the right of the right hand switch bank allows the factory set
HF trim on test to be fine trimmed by a service agent if a tweeter needs to
be replaced.

S1X

The S1X nearfield monitor delivers high quality sound in a very small cabinet. The S1X has all the critical features of the new SX-Series: the X-ART tweeter in combination with the ADAM designed class A/B amplifier and the HexaCone woofer with optimized magnet/voice-coil systems, driven by premium PWM amplifiers.

The smallest reference speaker

The combined features of crystal clear resolution, tight and precise low-frequency reproduction and the effortless musical reproduction sets this speaker apart from all conventional designs.

The S1X is the first choice in all environments that require high quality within a small space, whether it is a smaller studio, an OB vehicle, or a 5.1 installation.

The smallest big sound ever...

With the A3X, ADAM Audio present their smallest monitor to date, making it perfectly suited for all environments where space is limited but sound shouldnʼt be constricted. The A3X combines a tiny footprint with the much acclaimed ADAM sound quality by using the X-ART tweeter for the higher frequencies, a guarantee for crystal clear music reproduction.

A 4.5” (basket) driver handles the lower registers. The diaphragm is made from carbon fiber, a material that is very light but very stiff and therefore capable of delivering colouring-free sound. Two built-in 25 Watt amplifiers powers each of the drivers directly.

Stereolink

A very handy and exclusive technology found in the two smaller AX monitors is the Stereolink. This is accomplished by a pair of additional RCA connections that allow for a bypass of the second stereo channel to the other speaker.

This new technology connects two A3X speakers in such a manner as to allow the user the option to control the overall stereo volume of the system from either speakerʼs gain control. This makes the A3X a natural for "mixer-less” desktop applications where overall system volume needs to be adjusted easily.

Controls and Connectors

The front of the A3X sports dual ports for surprisingly low frequency response down to 60Hz. The front panel also has power and gain controls. The rear panel includes a tweeter gain control as well as balanced (XLR) jacks and unbalanced (RCA) jacks, allowing for greater connection flexibility. There are also two M6 (6 mm) metric screw threads for stand/wall mounting.

Review: "Highly recommended“

"Iʼve used various monitors for my computer work before, but never of the caliber of the A3X series. Before these, I would have to redo my mixes significantly when transitioning from the small cheapies to the big 'real ones'. The ADAM Audio A3Xʼs save me a step by providing both great sound in a compact format and by changing mundane audio task-work into a quality listening experience. If you use good monitors from the outset, youʼll learn your music that much faster so that when it comes time for mixdown and mastering on your big boxes, youʼll already be acclimated to your songʼs subtler sonic aspects—aspects revealed only by the A3Xʼs with their sweet, smooth top end, and impressive handling of bass frequencies. Highly recommended.“
(Jon Chappell, Harmony Central, 03/10)

Review: "...one of the best compact monitors“

"ADAM´s A3X as the smallest monitor with a X-ART tweeter to date has convinced us in every respect. It´s one of the best compact monitors we have ever reviewed and with its almost shameless low price it´s worth every penny. (Professional Audio, 05/10)

The Twin6 Be is the best seller of the Focal Professional range and the most versatile work tool of the SM6 line. It represents the only necessary solution for recording, mixing and mastering. The image precision, treble definition as well as midrange neutrality are at the heart of its reputation.
The excellent articulation of the bass and midbass registers, even at very high sound levels, makes it an unavoidable reference for engineers who require absolute transparency. Furthermore, the design of the Twin6 Be permits a high SPL while at the same time offering a stable tonal balance. One of the two 6.5" woofers works in large band (midrange – bass) whereas the other reproduces from 40 to 150Hz. This creates a bass that preserves all the signal dynamics, without any masking effect in the midrange, thereby keeping all its neutrality and transparency. Additional control of the bass register is accomplished by fine-tuning on the control plate on the back of the Twin6 Be in order to obtain a perfect mirror configuration with its mate. The Twin6 Be can be installed vertically or horizontally to respond to the space requirements of each studio.
