Sometimes, you just got to have more bass
Developed by the renowned Mackie studio monitor team, the SW?10 Active Studio
subwoofer destroys anything in its class?both in sound quality and looks. The huge
sounding, yet compact TAPCO SW?10 “mini-sub” offers devastatingly loud, punchy,
and precise low-end down to 34 Hz?which is pretty damn low. It can be used in a
variety of applications, including small project studios, surround sound editing, home
theater playback, and desktop audio workstations. With its huge bass, full, powerful
sound, and superior performance, the SW?10 is the perfect compact subwoofer to add
necessary thump to a stereo or surround monitoring system made up of S?5 and S?8
desktop monitors.
Control
The SW?10 Active Studio Subwoofer employs an acoustic suspension design for tight,
articulate bass, which provides an amazingly flat and linear low-frequency response
down to 34 Hz. In other words, it’s tight and low. Variable input sensitivity lets you adjust
the volume so it’s just right for your system. The onboard Active crossover is a Linkwitz-Riley
design?usually found in much higher end speakers?providing a low end range of 55 Hz
to 110 Hz at 24 dB/octave. The individual crossover controls for the left and right channels
provide additional flexibility in surround sound applications with a subwoofer output and
bass management (LFE). Finally, there’s a polarity reverse switch for optimizing the performance
of the SW?10 with the other speakers in your system.
I/O Low-down
The SW?10 hooks up easily with any system. Left and right inputs are provided on both
balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connectors. The SW?10 also offers dual high-Pass
Outputs (also on XLR and RCA connectors) for connecting Active monitors like the S?5s and
S?8s, or passive speakers through a separate power amplifier. The SW?10’s crossover splits
off all of the bass frequencies from the incoming audio signals and sends the mids and highs
to separate studio monitors. This way, the SW?10 focuses on the boom, and the other speakers
handle the rest for improved efficiency and overall clarity.
Protecting your investment
Accidents happen, so we added some dope circuitry just to keep your SW?10 performing its best.
The SW?10 is tuned to maximize efficiency, but it can get hot if you run it loud for long periods.
If the electronics get too hot, a thermal switch activates and shuts down the amplifier until it’s cool
again. A peak limiter circuit also monitors the amplifier output signal to guard against clipping and
overloading the amplifier. This allows for loud punchy bass performance without distortion, and ensures
long-term reliability.

The most powerful AX monitor
With its power and radiation characteristics, the brand new A8X is suitable for both nearfield and midfield monitoring. With a price/performance ratio that could hardly be better, this monitor is a perfect entry into these monitoring fields.
The A8X is equipped with the X-ART tweeter and a large (8.5”) midwoofer, a combination that adds both a very deep and yet very tight bass response to the unsurpassed reproduction qualities of the ADAM proprietary tweeter: a licence to thrill.
Cabinet- and bass reflex-construction
Like the other AX-Series models, the upper corners of the A8X are slanted to minimize reflections. The very large, double bass reflex tubes on the front have been specifically designed to perfectly match the midwoofer with its large voice coil.
Amplification and controls
With a 50W A/B amplifier for the tweeter and a 150W PWM amplifier for the midwoofer, the A8X has power in abundance and is the brawny monitor of the AX-Series.
On the rear panel are several controls: a gain for the high frequencies (± 4dB) and two shelf filters for the high and low frequencies. There are both XLR (balanced) and RCA (unbalanced) connectors on the rear panel of the speaker, which allow the A8X to be used in almost any application.
Review: A8X: a "powerful link" between near- and midfield monitors!
"The A8X is a powerful link between ADAM´s AX Series and the formidable and more expensive SX Series. Its all-in-all homogenous tuning, the deep and precise bass as well as the brilliant mid- and high-frequency reproduction make this speaker a huge recommendation for ambitious people without deep pockets." The Twin6 Be is the best seller of the Focal Professional range and the most versatile work tool of the SM6 line. It represents the only necessary solution for recording, mixing and mastering. The image precision, treble definition as well as midrange neutrality are at the heart of its reputation.
The excellent articulation of the bass and midbass registers, even at very high sound levels, makes it an unavoidable reference for engineers who require absolute transparency. Furthermore, the design of the Twin6 Be permits a high SPL while at the same time offering a stable tonal balance. One of the two 6.5" woofers works in large band (midrange – bass) whereas the other reproduces from 40 to 150Hz. This creates a bass that preserves all the signal dynamics, without any masking effect in the midrange, thereby keeping all its neutrality and transparency. Additional control of the bass register is accomplished by fine-tuning on the control plate on the back of the Twin6 Be in order to obtain a perfect mirror configuration with its mate. The Twin6 Be can be installed vertically or horizontally to respond to the space requirements of each studio.

The Solo6 Be monitor will surprise you in the very first minutes you spend with it, partly due to its size/extended bass response (40Hz at -3dB). The 6.5" "W” composite sandwich mid-woofer combines neutrality in the midrange, fullness in the midbass register and bass control. Its compactness and the choice of a large front laminar port guarantee easy integration in studios that need a near field monitor without any acoustic compromise. The user settings on the back of the Solo6 Be, combined with its compactness, make it easy to carry and to adjust according to the acoustics of each studio.

The smallest big sound ever...
With the A3X, ADAM Audio present their smallest monitor to date, making it perfectly suited for all environments where space is limited but sound shouldnʼt be constricted. The A3X combines a tiny footprint with the much acclaimed ADAM sound quality by using the X-ART tweeter for the higher frequencies, a guarantee for crystal clear music reproduction.
A 4.5” (basket) driver handles the lower registers. The diaphragm is made from carbon fiber, a material that is very light but very stiff and therefore capable of delivering colouring-free sound. Two built-in 25 Watt amplifiers powers each of the drivers directly.
Stereolink
A very handy and exclusive technology found in the two smaller AX monitors is the Stereolink. This is accomplished by a pair of additional RCA connections that allow for a bypass of the second stereo channel to the other speaker.
This new technology connects two A3X speakers in such a manner as to allow the user the option to control the overall stereo volume of the system from either speakerʼs gain control. This makes the A3X a natural for "mixer-less” desktop applications where overall system volume needs to be adjusted easily.
Controls and Connectors
The front of the A3X sports dual ports for surprisingly low frequency response down to 60Hz. The front panel also has power and gain controls. The rear panel includes a tweeter gain control as well as balanced (XLR) jacks and unbalanced (RCA) jacks, allowing for greater connection flexibility. There are also two M6 (6 mm) metric screw threads for stand/wall mounting.
Review: "Highly recommended“
"Iʼve used various monitors for my computer work before, but never of the caliber of the A3X series. Before these, I would have to redo my mixes significantly when transitioning from the small cheapies to the big 'real ones'. The ADAM Audio A3Xʼs save me a step by providing both great sound in a compact format and by changing mundane audio task-work into a quality listening experience. If you use good monitors from the outset, youʼll learn your music that much faster so that when it comes time for mixdown and mastering on your big boxes, youʼll already be acclimated to your songʼs subtler sonic aspects—aspects revealed only by the A3Xʼs with their sweet, smooth top end, and impressive handling of bass frequencies. Highly recommended.“ (Jon Chappell, Harmony Central, 03/10)
Review: "...one of the best compact monitors“
"ADAM´s A3X as the smallest monitor with a X-ART tweeter to date has convinced us in every respect. It´s one of the best compact monitors we have ever reviewed and with its almost shameless low price it´s worth every penny. (Professional Audio, 05/10)
