| Built upon award-winning UAFX dual-engine processing and three legendary limiters plus an iconic tube preamp, the Max Preamp and Dual Compressor Pedal from Universal Audio provides the classic compression colors of the Teletronix LA-2A opto-compressor, the UA 1176 FET compressor, and the Dyna Comp as well as the all the grit and character of UA's classic 610 tube microphone preamp. With the powerful dual-FX engine found on all UAFX pedals, you can stack and mix compressors for a wider array of tones and textures, and each stack gets its own dedicated footswitch.
Six knobs give you control over attack, ratio (a pedal exclusive parameter), release, preamp gain, compression level, and output volume, and three switches let you select between compressor models for each stack and the stack you are editing. Stereo 1/4" I/O permits either classic mono or immersive stereo processing, including support for the classic 4-cable method. And with the UAFX Control app, you can tweak EQ settings, unlock serial or parallel operation, and add a sidechain bass filter, all over wireless Bluetooth.Universal Audio Max Preamp and Dual Compressor Pedal |
Classic chorusing, flanging, vibrato, and tremolo effects are all accessible in the pedal itself. Other effects can be downloaded from Universal Audio and loaded into the pedal over USB. In addition to silent switching and true/buffered bypass selection, the pedal offers a bevy of control as well as instant save/recall of your favorite sounds as presets.
The pedal offers three classic modulations effects, including:
- Chorus Brigade: A classic '70s analog bucket-brigade chorus with additional Vibrato mode.
- Flanger/DBLR: A studio flanger/doubler with tones modeling legendary rack effect units.
- Trem 65: An opto-tube tremolo derived from iconic blackface amps of the mid-1960s.
In addition to these three effects, you'll have access to more from the Universal Audio website, including the Phaser X90 and the Dharma Trem 61.
This dual-processor enables you achieve a powerful and authentic sound and also facilitates simple preset loading with instant recall. Each effect allows you to take advantage of secondary controls to shape the modulation.
Just like classic and modern UA gear, this pedal is built to last. It also offers both true and buffered bypassing (thanks to a UAD firmware update), as well as silent switching onstage and in the studio.
