Yamaha's new Installation Series Speakers address a number of important issues that give them unprecedented performance and handling characteristics for live sound applications, including permanent installations. In particular, phase characteristics have been kept smooth and consistent throughout the entire series, so you can mix and match speakers to suit any system and venue without ending up with hot and dead spots due to phase interference. And of course sonic quality is superb throughout the entire reproduction range so the full impact of the source material reaches the audience undiluted.

The MONITOR 1C-BK 2-way monitor speakers offer accurate sound reproduction combined with a great design to suit your fixed installations, stereo and surround applications, home recording studios as well as audio and video productions.
Each of these 100-Watt speakers has a powerful 5 ½" woofer with a lightweight cellulose cone, a high-resolution ½" tweeter plus a phase-optimized high-precision crossover for absolute phase linearity and auto-overload protection that resets automatically. The AC16 is an ultra-compact, fullrange loudspeaker system designed to provide maximum bandwidth and SPL in a single system package and be visually unobtrusive. The enclosure design allows for installation very close to walls and ceilings, making it ideal for installation under balconies, columns, or for wall mounting. The high frequency device is a 1" exit compression driver integrated into a 90° x 90° PT™ (Progressive Transition) waveguide that provides even coverage throughout the intended listening area. The AC16 utilizes a 6.5" Symmetrical Field Geometry (SFG™) LF Transducer with a copper-clad aluminum edge wound 2" voice coil and a copper-capped pole piece that improves performance by reducing voice coil inductance and distortion.
The multi-ply hardwood enclosure is designed to work in the vertical plane as well as in the horizontal plane. Mounting points are provided for an optional U-bracket and for an OmniMount® type bracket. The AC16 is also equipped with attachment
points located on the bottom of the enclosure for a stand mount accessory. The plywood enclosure features JBLʼs DuraFlex™ finish and comes with a powder coated steel, foam-backed grille.
