Korg CR-4 4-Track Cassette Recorder

Introducing the CR-4, a 4-track multitrack cassette tape recorder that offers the best of all worlds ? affordable multi-track recording, amazing-sounding digital effects and EQ, plus built-in amplifier and speakers.

Four Tracks of Recording Power
When you plug into the CR-4, you harness the recording expertise of Korg?s acclaimed multi-track recorders in a cost-effective, 4-track cassette alternative. With four 1/4″ inputs ? one for each track ? you can record up to four tracks at once. Each track is recorded onto a standard, high-quality chrome high-bias (Type 2) cassette tape.

REMS Modeling Built-in
The CR-4 delivers a wide range of realistic amp and effect sounds powered by Korg ?REMS? modeling technology acclaimed by guitarists and bassists worldwide. It features six essential guitar amp models, two bass amps, an acoustic guitar EQ and even two vocal mic? simulators, so you can get incredibly realistic sound while recording direct. Plus, when you plug into the CR-4, you can choose from a selection of eleven great ToneWorks effects models like chorus, flanger, tremolo, delay, reverb and more.

Dedicated Knobs Make Amp and Effect Adjustments a Snap
The CR-4 has five controls (Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass & Volume) for the guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar and vocal models. In addition, the CR-4 includes an effect depth knob, a tap tempo switch for modifying delay time and modulation speed, and a dedicated noise reduction switch.

The Easiest 4-track Ever
Getting great sound for recording is easier than ever with the CR-4. All of the effect and amp models are accessed using two dedicated select knobs. Simply dial in the amp and effect you need and push the effect select switch on your track. Each track has its own trim knob, volume slider, pan knob and effect switch. Just plug into the track you want to record on, press the record select switch and go.

Built-in Amp and Speakers
The CR-4 comes equipped with two speakers in bass reflex enclosures, providing you with a lot of options. You can listen to your recording play back through the speakers. Or, you can plug into any track on the CR-4, select an amp and effect, and use the CR-4 as a 5-Watt practice amp. You can perfect your performance and record it all using one unit! Plus, because the CR-4 records and plays back cassettes at standard speed, you can also use it for listening to pre-recorded cassette tapes. The speakers can be turned off for silent playback while recording.

All the Right Outs
Once you mix down your recording, you can record it to another device using the CR-4?s stereo RCA outputs. Of course, the CR-4 also comes with two headphone outputs so that you can listen to other recorded tracks while your adding another track to the mix. Because there are two outputs, both you and a friend can hear what?s going on and record or mix together.

RS-422 PROTOCOL CONVERTER

The Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Card is designed to fit in the X-Series card slot located in the rear panel of the Apogee Big Ben Master Digital Clock (sold separately). Allows all functions to be controlled from the Big Ben user interface and generates video and provides genlocking function. In genlocking mode the source video-signal will be re-clocked and regenerated, maintaining the same
field and colorburst phase information, but stripped of its line information and replaced by video-black. In slave mode the board will auto-detect the incoming video-standard and configure itself accordingly. The video input is of very high tolerance and will even lock to unstable sources like VCR's.

The Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Board has three modes of operation.
•Master mode: The user selects the video format on the frontpanel of the Big Ben. The Big Ben will slave to the generated video signal

•Attended Slave mode: The video board will be configured to autodetect and genlock to the incoming video. The Big Ben will slave to the incoming video signal

•Unattended Slave mode: The video board will be configured to autodetect and genlock to the incoming video. The Big Ben is not clocking to the Video board and therefore both will function independently

Features
  • Support for PAL, NTSC and 60 Hz B&W standards
  • One composite video input and three composite video outputs
  • Can operate as a master black-burst generator
  • Can operate as genlocking slave device
