GROOVE TUBES GT 12AT7 PREAMP TUBE The Groove Tubes GT-12AT7 preamp tube is manufactured to the highest quality JAN spec. NOS, made in Russia for extremely long life. Used widely in most U.S.-made amps and, in particular, Fender amps. Fender amps with reverb use 2 - 12AT7s -- one for the reverb drive stage, and one as a phase inverter to drive the push/pull output stage. The makeup of the 12AT7 is very similar to the 12AX7 and it can be substituted for a 12AX7 in a pinch. Some players prefer the 12AT7 in the driver stage of a Marshall for a cleaner, brighter tone. (The driver or phase inverter is the 12AX7 located nearest the power tubes.) The 12AT7 is rarely used in a tone-generating stage, but rather in function stages, so the Groove Tubes GT-12AT7 is selected for durability. Country of origin: Russia

NN095-Electro Harmonix 12AX7 / ECC83 Vacuum tube 12AX7ЕН, 12AX7SV is a miniature twin triode with equipotential cathodes, designed to amplify low frequency voltage in radio engineering devices. Top choice for gutiar / bass amp application with all the right ingredients. Excellent tonal bal-ance, harmonic content, low noise floor, and low microphonics. The tone is more vintage sounding, and also does very well in audiophile application. The 12AX7-EH tube has a nice balanced sound, a very low noise floor and excellent perfor-mance in terms of microphonics. The lack of microphonics is due in part to the return of a shorter plate structure and better materials.

A rugged russian tube by Electro Harmonix.
Some claim the 6L6EH has been "Modeled after the vintage RCA 6L6GC "blackplate" and the 6L6EH features large plate dimensions".
To see what a real blackplate looks like see the picture on the right showing a RCA and a TAD blackplate small bottle 6L6.
Both are real black plate constructions and great for vintage guitar amps for pleasing smooth and fine complex tone structure. Best for any classic Fender Amplifier.
The 6L6EH is a very good choice for more modern hard rocking guitar sounds and recommened for this.
