Content | The Cambridge Topaz AM5 takes the excellent AM1 as its basis and adds desirable extras to make an even more impressive amp.
\'Sound first\' philosophy
Like the AM1, the Topaz AM5 has been designed from the ground-up to offer the best sound quality for the money without any unnecessary frills. So no fancy equalizers or flashing lights but you do get high quality, low-noise tone controls. These have been designed to work in a subtle way so as not to unduly affect the balance of the mid-range, yet still tweak the upper and lower frequencies.
Detailed, true-to-life sound
With 25W per channel, the Topaz AM5 is 25% more powerful than the AM1, which makes it the ideal choice for using in larger rooms or with power hungry speakers. As with other Topaz products, the sound is true-to-life, detailed and has far more depth than similarly priced low-fi. If you don\'t believe us, come in and hear the difference for yourself!
Front-mounted MP3 socket
The AM5 is also far better built than the class average. A full metal casing with brushed aluminium front panel gives the AM5 the look of an amp costing two or three times as much. There\'s also a front-mounted 3.5mm socket that\'s perfect for connecting your MP3 player or iPod.
For genuine hi-fi at a bargain price, the Topaz AM5 demands your attention.
