Voice quality improvement over ordinary Hybrids
With the D&R GSM Hybrid you can add a simple and effective wireless interface that your reporters can call.
With features like HD voice, Echo canceling, digital EQ and application control over USB on your PC it is a nice tool to expand the communication
possibilities of your studio with your reporters in the field.
The GSM Hybrid has its own number reporters directly can dial, the call can be taken on the mixing console due to built in GPIO’s.
The electronics are housed in a sturdy metal 9.5” rack mount case with antenna’s on the front side for optimum receiver conditions.
An external 12 volt power supply adapter is part of the delivery. Software features are in and output metering and level control, phone dialing, number recognition and GSM signal strength indication.
The Alert feature is implemented to let a reporter in the field ‘wake-up’ a DJ behind the desk to start an interview. Assumed is that a connection is already there and the DJ is doing some other work in the studio while the reporter waits for the moment to start the interview. On that moment the reporter only has to press the ‘0’ on his phone to Alert the DJ. In the main window of the GSM Hybrid Control application the background starts blinking red for 2 seconds.
Also the GPO output alternates with this Alert signal. Doing so, the DJ knows the reporter is ready for the interview and he can mix in the reporter to the show.
If the GPI is wired a call can be picked up on the mixing console when the GPI is connected to the GSM\’s GPI jack connector
New Address book is added to the software with number recognition.
Auto Connect: The application ‘GSM Hybrid Control’ automatically connects to the device on start-up or re-connect if USB connection is lost.
Auto Answer, the application now picks up the line after one ring signal.
A black/white list of numbers is under design.
All settings done in the application are now stored in the internal GSM memory. It means the GSM Hybrid works independently from a running application once programmed and can be used in the field without a PC.
A fast Factory Reset is possible by pushing the CONNECT button 15 seconds.
The communication between the GSM Hybrid and PC is completely redesigned and based on the proven AIRLITE communication protocols.
NOTE: In case existing users want to update the GSM Hybrid application
software, they also have to download the latest firmware to get all the

The Avalon VT-737SP features a combination of TUBE preamplifiers, opto-compressor,sweep equalizer, output level and VU metering in a 2U space. PREAMPLIFIER The VT-737SP has three input selections: 1. The VT-737SP features a higher-performance microphone input transformer with +48v phantom selection. 2. Instrument DI high source input with jack located on front panel. 3. Balanced line input, discrete high-level Class A. The Class A preamplifier utilizes two cascaded, dual vacuum tube triodes configured with minimum negative feedback. A high gain switch boosts the overall gain of the preamplifier. The four high quality tubes are configured as singled ended anode coupled followers. A passive-variable high pass filter and hard-wire relay bypass completes the input signal conditioning. The phase reverse relay is available on all three inputs. OPTO-COMPRESSOR The opto-compressor features a minimum signal path design with twin Class A vacuum tube triodes for gain matching. The optical attenuator acts as a simple passive level controller. Full dynamic control from soft compression to hard- knee limiting can be achieved with threshold, ratio-compression, attack and release controls plus gain reduction selection on the large VU meter. Special spectral control including de-ess is available with the dual sweep mid EQ to side- chain switch. The EQ section can be flipped pre or post the opto-compressor via a front panel switch for alternate effects and tone shaping. Two VT-737SPs can be linked via a rear panel link cable for stereo tracking. The compressor bypass is a sealed silver relay for the most direct signal path. SWEEP-EQUALIZER AND OUTPUT LEVEL The VT-737SP equalizer utilizes 100% discrete, Class A-high-voltage transistors for optimum sonic performance. The high and low frequency bands provide the smooth characteristics of an all passive design, while the dual mid bands include variable frequency and switched Q-width selection. The enhanced range of the mid bands is extended into the high and low bands by the use of X10 frequency multipliers. The bypass switch incorporates a sealed silver relay for the most direct signal path. When the EQ to sidechain is engaged, the high-low EQ remains in the audio path for "tone enhancement“. The output level control provides a variable control of the overall signal path. The output amplifier utilizes another dual triode vacuum tube driving a 100% discrete, Class A, high-current, balanced and DC coupled low noise output amplifier.
AVALON VT-737SP FEATURES Vacuum tube triode signal path, transformer balanced microphone input, high-voltage circuits for maximum headroom to +30dB, low noise -92dB, internal discrete power supply with toroidal transformer, soft-start tube life extender, stereo link for compressors, all discrete Class A equalizer with musical passive filter design, sealed silver relays for signal routing, large control knobs with professional conductive plastic potentiometers, VU meter for output level monitoring and compressor gain reduction.

In today's recording and sound reinforcement environments, the need for multiple channels of high quality, easy to use compression is growing rapidly. The new dbx® 1046 is designed to provide the audio professional with just that: 4 channels of great sounding dbx compression for a variety of applications. Incorporating the industry standard dbx designs and the latest available manufacturing techniques, the dbx 1046 provides pristine sonic quality with that classic dbx sound.
The 1046 provides 4 channels of smooth classic dbx OverEasy® or Hard Knee compression that are perfectly suited for use on individual tracks of your multitrack recorder, and in virtually all applications the separate channels can be individually interfaced and used for entirely independent purposes. Additionally the newly developed PeakStopPlus™ is ideal for protecting your system from the oppressive peaks that can take out valuable drivers in your sound reinforcement rig or studio monitors.
All four channels have the following controls:
Threshold - allows you to set the level at which the compressor starts affecting the gain
OverEasy - allows you to select between soft compression for overall gain control or Hard Knee compression based on the characteristics of the original dbx 160.
Ratio - allows you to set the slope of gain reduction affecting the signal over the threshold level.
Input/Output Meter - allows you to set the meter to check the input and output levels for maximum signal-to-noise ratio and best level matching.
Output Gain - allows you to add make-up gain or to adjust the output level for that channel to match the next device's input gain.
Bypass - hard wire bypass allows you to hear how the compressor is affecting your signal.
PeakStopPlus - allows you to set the maximum signal level you want to pass through this channel. While it's virtually impossible to eliminate distortion, the PeakStopPlus circuit does it gracefully and effectively with minimal distortion.
Stereo Link - allows you to link channels 1&2 and 3&4 for two channels of true stereo compression.
All four channels feature balanced gold plated XLR and 1/4" inputs and outputs, and switchable +4dBu or -10dBV operating level to interface each individual channel with any other device.
So whether you need to control the level, placement in the mix, or overall characteristics of 4 independent signals or control the gain leveling on a couple of stereo pairs, the dbx 1046 is for you.
