Tube-buffered DI-Box DI-1000

The Tube-Buffered DI-Box DI-1000 allows the extraction of all the musical details of
musical interfaces without degrading the sound. This can only be achieved by
providing a very high input impedance to avoid any loading of instrument pickups. This
design approach allows seemingly infinite headroom to preserve the real dynamic range
of the interfaced instruments.A vacuum tube enables all these goals to be achieved
without any compromises in sound quality. The sonic difference between a standard
DI-Box and the Tube-Buffered DI-Box is comparable to the musical resolution difference
between a standard microphone and a studio microphone. One of the best transformers,
the very transparent sounding JENSEN JT-DB-E, was chosen providing complete ground
isolation. The parameters of this transformer, like frequency response, phase response,
group delay and geadroom capabilities, play a vital part in the performance of this DI-Box.

Technical Specifications
Input
The signal of the instrument is directly fed to the tube circuit with > 20 MOhms input
impedance to prevent any signal degradation, inevitable in traditional designs.
Buffered Output“
The second stage of the vacuum tube is used to buffer the signal and lower the output
impedance to < 8 kOhms. This unity gain output allows for cable runs of 10 meters
without loosing high frequency information.
Boost circuit
The boost circuit increases the signal send to the output transformer by 15 dB. This may
be useful for instruments with extremely low output, but decreases headroom capability
to 6 Volt rms. Under these circumstances the signal may be clipped, concerning the output
transformer?s signal, which gives you 2nd harmonic tube-like distortion. This distortion
normally does not occur - but is sometimes desirable, being the reason for this special feature.
Unity circuit
The unity circuit feeds a low distortion unity gain signal to the JENSEN output transformer.
This gives the best possible sound quality.
Ground-lift“-Switch
This front panel mounted switch allows complete ground and electrical isolation between the
direct injection box and the console or recording device.

Mechanical Specifications
Cabinet 2 mm stainless steel
Front- and rear-panel 1,5 mm stainless steel lasercut and photo-chemically etched
Dimensions 185 x 100 x 40 mm

Operating Voltage
220/110 V AC, selectable via rear panel mounted switch. The fuse is easily
accessible from the rear panel. IEC mains connector with optional fixture.
Construction details
Double sided glass fibre contacted PCB with 70 mm copper plating. 1% metal film resistors
and the finest polypropylene capacitors are used in the signal path. MIL type Switchcraft jacks
and high performance switches ensure flawless operation. The power supply is optimised via
measurement quality toroid transformer and a low impedance design to ensure the lowest
possible noise. Through a double sided PCB all parts are roadworthy secured. A waterclear
blue LED perfects the aesthetics of the DI box.

Behringer DI-400P High-Performance Passive Direct Injection Box Introducing the Ultra-Compact DI-Boxes from BEHRINGER There are times when you will want to connect certain sound sources straight to other audio gear, be it for a live performance or a studio session. A direct connection between audio equipment can be a challenge though: technical problems crop up that?ll corrupt the signal. The DI400P lets you connect instruments or amplifier outputs. It converts any unbalanced signal to a balanced signal and eliminates unwanted noise. With its high-performance transformer, it also allows you to use very long cables without the loss of high frequencies. This is the sort of medicine that?ll cure headaches in your studio or on stage.

1-channel DI box, passive Converts unbalanced 6.3 mm jack line input (e.g. from instruments) into balanced XLR output for connecting a mixer Switchable input attenuation: 0 dB, -20 dB, -40 dB Ground-lift switch eliminates ground loop problems 1 signal input (6.3 mm jack) 1 parallel output (6.3 mm jack), feed-through of the input signal 1 low-impedance output (XLR) Gray housing

With added functionality and enhanced audio performance, the AR-133 has been designed to be more affordable for musicians, studios and PA companies. The unit includes phantom power and battery supplies as standard. Should the phantom power from the console fail or be accidentally switched off, the AR-133 automatically switches over to the internal 9V battery providing uninterrupted use. The unit is housed in a rugged aluminium extrusion case, with robust polyurethane end-cheeks which give the AR-133 a very distinctive look. Input connectors are both 1/4" jack sockets and an XLR socket, the latter meaning that the AR-133 can be used to convert unbalanced signals to a balanced output on XLRs throughout. The arched case allows cables to run back underneath the unit from the end for neat cable management. Input attenuation is 0, -20 or -40dB, making the box suitable for instrument, line or amplifier levels on inputs. On the output side, a ground-lift switch is provided for quick solutions to ground-loop problems. The AR-133 uses an enhanced version of the same audio path as the AR-116, now regarded by many people as a reference standard. The sound quality is legendary, particularly on acoustic and bass guitars. Numerous applications can be satisfied by the AR-133. For example, as well as the traditional guitar use, the AR-133 can be used with keyboards, DJ consoles, amplifier outputs, and other electronic sources. An additional bonus is the ability to use the AR-133 as an active balancing device. The alphaton Direct Injection-Box SM-50 allows direct connection of electric guitars,
electric bass, and electronic music instruments with mixing desks of PA systems
and of recording studios.
The SM-50 reduces the amount of microphones used on stage, thus improving gain
before feedback.
Coloration of sound is avoided. Clean signal without interference from other instruments
eases the job of the recording engineer. The use of a strong aluminium die-cast box allows
trouble-free function for a number of years even under adverse conditions. Double grounding
(hum) can be eliminated by activating the built-in ground-lift switch. Isolation voltage between
input and output is 2500 volts, against ground 1500 volts (with ground-lift switch activated).
The box thus complies with toughest safety standards.
