The new Fono MM phono stage has been designed to be effective, easy to use, and above all, to reproduce music. The Fono MM uses a fully discrete, cascaded, complementary amplifier input stage, a configuration designed to optimise the performance of your moving magnet cartridge. Now housed in a brand new redesigned case to match the new Fono MC and Rega\’s latest range of electronic components offering a modern and sleek look guranteed to integrate in to any hi-fi system.

The new MK3 Fono MM replaces the multi award winning MK2 model which won
WHAT HI-FI? Best Phono stage in its price category 2014,2015 & 2016.

The RIAA equalization has been split into two stages to minimise interaction. Polyester capacitors have been used in the signal path and polypropylene capacitors are used in the RIAA equalization circuits.

The aesthetic design of the Fono MM was as important as the quality of its electrical capabilities, so it benefits from the same aluminium case as the Rega TTPSU and Fono MC amplifier, giving it a design which offers a familiar feel and moreover brings it in line with its illustrious bigger brothers.

The LD Systems PPA 2 is a very compact analogue phono preamplifier, which equalises the extremely low output signal of conventional turntables to RIAA standards. It allows you to connect to devices without any phono input, such as mixers, PA power amplifiers or sound cards. The phono inputs are designed as RCA jacks, just like the line outputs; the PPA 2 also has a screw terminal for the ground conductor of the turntable and a 6.3 mm stereo jack for connecting a headset. The THD factor of the preamplifier is below 0.05% and the channel separation is -75 dB. The LD Systems PPA 2 uses a 12 V AC adapter; a bright LED indicates the power supply on the top of the sturdy metal chassis. Product type Other Studio and Recording Equipment
Type Stereo Input / Stereo Output
Frequency response RIAA Curve Hz

WITH INTEGRATED ANALOGUE-TO-DIGITAL CONVERTER

Both Microsoft® Windows® and Apple® Mac OS® come with very simple audio recording software pre-installed. However, to take full advantage of the high-resolution recording facilities offered by the MM 008 ADC, we recommend recording software that can record at 24 bits/96 kHz and save lossless high-resolution audio files such as FLAC or Apple® Lossless.

ADC SOFTWARE

Thorens turntables can be considered state-of-the-art in hi-fi technology as they would extract even the most minute details from your precious vinyl records. The signals generated by the pickup cartridges are however very small and therefore must be amplified to a much higher level. Regrettably, most of today’s amplifiers are no longer equipped with a dedicated phono stage. This unfortunate situation was a good reason for Thorens to develop the TEP 302, a complete phono preamplifier including RIAA equalization, which was to complement the outstanding playback performance of our turntables.

The TEP 302 is a pure-bred Class-A amplifier which employs selected, very special low-noise operational amplifiers throughout. The circuitry has been optimized "by ear” after several extended listening sessions. Of course, the TEP 302 also features a 15-Hz subsonic filter in order to protect the woofers from dangerous excursions when a warped record is played. More details, more dynamics.
