Content | The Swiss Army Knife of microphones
for vocal and instrumental recording, on stage, in ENG/EFP and video production
The C1000 S from AKG is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid pattern designed for recording, live-sound, ENG and video-production applications with vocals and instruments. Using the included polar-pattern converter accessory, the microphone can be switched from cardioid to hypercardioid to reduce feedback when used on stage. The presence-boost adapter offers three discrete frequency settings to add clarity to speech and instrument sounds.
A switchable low-cut filter at 80 Hz helps reduce rumble or wind noise, and a switchable 10 dB pad enables distortion-free recording of very loud sound sources associated with proximity miking. If no phantom power is available, the C1000 S can be powered by two standard AA batteries for up to 120 hours.
Featuring a pre-polarized design encased in a sturdy metal chassis, a gold-sputtered microphone capsule housing and gold-plated XLR pins, this microphone is well suited for mobile applications such as broadcast and interviews, even in high-humidity environments.
The C1000 S comes with a stand adapter, a foam windscreen and a microphone bag.

C 568 B
Compact, short shotgun microphone
Integrated, switchable bass cut filter minimizes mechanical noise
Operates on phantom power
High directivity and wide frequency response in a relatively short shotgun make this
microphone a perfect tool for theater, sound reinforcement, and film/TV applications.
Due to its compact and lightweight design, the C 568 B is ideal for camera mount
applications. Below 500 Hz it functions as a hypercardioid microphone; above 500 Hz
the acoustic interference tube introduces increasing directivity. A switchable 12 dB/
octave 120 Hz bass cut filter effectively suppresses rumble and wind noise. The rugged,
all-metal body contains the built-in preamp. Phantom powering (9?52 V) required; foam
windscreen and stand adapter included.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Polar pattern hypercardioid/directional
Frequency range 20 to 20,000 Hz
Sensitivity 11 mV/Pa (-39 dBV)
Max. SPL 128 dB
Equivalent noise level (CCIR 468-3) 29 dB
Equivalent noise level 18 dB-A
Signal/noise ratio 76 dB
Bass filter 12 dB/octave at 120 Hz
Impedance 600 ohms
Recommended load impedance >2000 ohms

The Shure Model VP88 is a single-point, stereo condenser microphone for use in professional studio recording, field production, electronic news gathering (ENG), and studio broadcasting applications. It combines two condenser cartridges in a single housing to create a stereo audio image of the sound source. It is unique in its ability to capture the realism of a live event and yet withstand rigorous field production environments.
The VP88 uses a mid-side (M-S) configuration. One microphone cartridge (Mid) faces forward to capture on-axis sound using a cardioid pickup pattern. The other microphone cartridge (Side) is bi-directional, capturing sound from either side. The VP88 contains an internal M-S matrix with three settings for different degrees of stereo image seperation. The internal matrix can be bypassed if an external matrix is used or if stereo imaging is done in post-production. Switches on the top of the microphone control output mode, stereo imaging, low-frequency rolloff settings, and battery on/off.
The VP88 can operate on phantom power or an internal 6V battery. The VP88 is supplied with a multi-connector "Y-splitter" cable, foam windscreen, swivel stand adapter, 6-volt battery, and zippered carrying/storage bag. Optional accessories include an isolation mount, a 7.6 m (25 ft) microphone extension cable, a phantom power supply, and a 4.3 m (14 ft) microphone stand.
- Time-coherent, Mid-Side (M-S) design for optimal stereo imaging
- Built-in stereo matrix for direct control of the stereo spread; direct M-S outputs available
- Mono compatibility ideal for broadcast applications
- 40 to 20,000 Hz frequency response
- Low noise and distortion
- Wide dynamic range
- Switch-selectable, low-frequency rolloff (12 dB/octave below 80 Hz) for reduced pickup of ambient noise and stand vibration
- Operates on phantom power or a 6V camera battery
- LED power indicator
- Internal shock mount for reduced stand vibration and handling noise
- Built-in "pop" screen
- Includes windscreen, swivel adapter, and Y-cable
