Frequency Range 50–15,000 Hz Impedance 600 Ohm Sensitivity -52 dBV/Pa* at 1kHz *1 Pa=94 dB SPL Connector XLR-XLR Cable Length 15′ (4.5 meters)The Beta 87 microphone has consistently been a top choice of performers and audio technicians around the world due to its superb accuracy and detail, and rich vocal production. This long-standing favorite now features a new design and has been renamed the Beta 87A TM. In response to user requests, Shure has redesigned this microphone by just slightly thickening the handle for a more comfortable feel when hand-held. In addition, the Beta 87A now includes the A25D break-resistant swivel adapter. The Shure Model Beta 87A is a premium quality supercardioid hand-held electret condenser vocal microphone with exceptionally smooth frequency response and high sound pressure level (SPL) capability. Used for professional sound reinforcement, broadcasting, and studio recording applications, the Beta 87A combines superb performance with the ruggedness needed for touring and field production. The Beta 87A features a controlled low-frequency roll-off that compensates for proximity effect and prevents the "boomy" sound often associated with close pick-up. The characteristic Shure presence rise brightens the upper midrange. The tight supercardioid pattern, with null points at approximately 125 degrees, provides maximum isolation from other vocalists or instruments while offering minimal off-axis coloration. The Beta 87A operates on phantom power.
  • Smooth, tailored frequency response provides detail, accuracy, and warmth for vocals
  • Extremely accurate supercardioid pattern at all frequencies provides the highest gain-before-feedback
  • Three-stage pop filter minimizes breath pop and noise
  • Break-resistant stand adapter
  • Frequency response: 50 to 20,000 Hz

In the tradition of the SM58?, the Beta 58A dynamic microphone has become a top choice among vocalists and touring sound professionals.

The Shure Beta 58A is a high-output supercardioid dynamic vocal microphone designed for professional sound reinforcement and project studio recording. It maintains a true supercardioid pattern throughout its frequency range. This insures high gain-before-feedback, maximum isolation from other sound sources, and minimum off-axis tone coloration. The Beta 58A has a shaped frequency response that is ideal for close-up vocals. The superb performance of this microphone is not affected by rough handling because of its rugged construction, proven shock mount system, and hardened steel mesh grille. Typical applications for the Beta 58A include lead vocals, backup vocals and speech.

  • Smooth, extended frequency response for outstanding sound for professional live vocal use
  • Consistent supercardioid pattern provides the best gain-before-feedback among dynamic microphones
  • Pneumatic shock mount reduces handling noise
  • Frequency response: 50 to 16,000 Hz
  • Frequency response tailored for vocals, with brightened midrange and bass rolloff to control proximity effect
  • Uniform supercardioid pattern for high gain before feedback and superior rejection of off–axis sound
  • Neodymium magnet for high signal–to–noise output
  • Hardened steel mesh grille that resists wear and abuse
  • Advanced pneumatic shock mount system that minimizes transmission of mechanical noise and vibration
  • Minimally effected by varying load impedance
  • Legendary Shure quality and reliability

Made in Germany

Like all members of the M series, the M 88 TG is handcrafted in Germany. The materials and the precise craftsmanship that go into the microphone ultimately create a world-class product, a level of quality that turns an ordinary microphone purchase into a long-term investment.

Perfect for heavy bass Sources
The M 88 TG excels on the kick drum, saxophone and percussions, the result of a balanced sound profile and deep bass tones. It is a must-have for every microphone collection. And why shouldn’t it be when you consider its features? It is both insensitive to high sound pressure levels and feedback resistant thanks to its nearly perfect hypercardioid!
Flexible tool iN The studio

The M 88 TG excels in the studio with the help of its multifaceted flexibility. No matter whether the job involves vocals, horns, guitar amplifiers or drums – the microphone is the perfect choice for the widest range of sources. It is all the result of its exceptionally broad frequency response and rich sound.

The first Neumann microphone with a dynamic capsule. Functionally optimized design
specifically for the broadcast field, featuring integrated pop protection, suppression of
structure-borne noise and a hypercardioid directional characteristic.
Emotion conveyed with technical perfection. This is the ideal which the Neumann
microphones in the Broadcast Line have been designed to fulfill. The fine-tuning to the
requirements of professional broadcast studios and the individual, functionally optimized
design* ensure that these are microphones of character.
The BCM 705 is Neumann?s first dynamic microphone. The housing and headgrille are
identical to those of the BCM 104; only the green logo indicates that this is something new
from Neumann. The principle of reduction to the essentials can be seen in the dynamic
capsule with a hypercardioid directional characteristic, specifically designed for speech
reproduction at close range. Multi-level isolation from structure-borne noise ensures operation
free of interference, even in a lively studio environment.
Mechanical Features
The microphone headgrille twists off easily for quick cleaning. Neumann offers optional,
color-coded headgrilles so that, for reasons of hygiene, each announcer can use his or her
individual headgrille. Iin front of the capsule, mounted on a frame holder, a fine gauze serves
as a built-in popscreen.
The microphones of the Broadcast Line have an elastic mount against structure-borne noise,
that is compatible with standard broadcast-segment microphone arms.
Acoustic features
The frequency response has a light treble boost, in the region from 2 kHz to 9 kHz, aiding the
speech intelligibility. The bass frequency response is designed to compensate for the overemphasis
of the bass caused by the proximity effect.
The integrated Pop Screen
A pop screen not only prevents the occurrence of plosive pop noises in vocal recordings, but also
efficiently prevents unwanted particles, from respiratory moisture, nicotine, to food remnants, from
settling on the diaphragm. The pop screen can be removed for cleaning without the use of tools.
Mounting
The preferred mode of operation is to suspend the BCM 104 or BCM 705 from a standard studio
boom arm.
A thread adapter to fit different connector threads is included. In order to provide protection from
structure-borne noise, both the capsule and the microphone in its mount are elastically suspended.

The optional SG 5 swivel mount allows additional angling of the microphone by +/-90 degrees.

FEATURES:
Dynamic capsule
Hypercardioid directional characteristic
Characteristic, functionally optimized design*
Integrated, neutral pop protection
Integrated elastic suspension
Individual headgrilles for different users
Colored rings to identify the replacement headgrilles
Easy removal and cleaning of microphone headgrille (with bayonet mount)

APPLICATION HINTS:
Announcer's mic for broadcasting and studio

This is just one of the most common applications. We recommend
additional experimentation to gain maximum use from this microphone.
