The amPlug series received wide-ranging acclaim from guitarists around the world for delivering incredible guitar tone in a pocket-sized unit. The NEW amPlug 'Acoustic' quickly creates shimmering, rich acoustic guitar sounds. Two distinct sounds are available using the Fat/ Bright switch. The Blend combines the acoustic tone with the original signal for just the right mix! In combination with electric guitar's own tone controls and pickup selection, the sound variation is unlimited. The ultra-long battery life provides up to 27 hours of extended enjoyment! At home, in the studio and on the go, amPlug Acoustic delivers superb acoustic guitar sounds anytime, anyplace. 'Lead' is based on a US-made high-gain boutique amp, further modified for lead guitar. It also contains a digital delay effect, delivering a huge, spatial sound that could not be previously obtained, and giving you a rich and full-fledged lead sound that you can play anytime and anywhere. 'Bass' is modeled on VOX's classic AC100 bass amp, and expands its potential with a full-range tone that supports today's bass sounds. A compressor/boost effect provides not just compression but also a thick overdrive sound, giving you the perfect tones for performing in any style. Careful attention has been paid to the sound quality, and a high-quality FET buffer circuit has been used to obtain even greater dynamic range. The oringial models are still available in three different sound styles: VOX AC30, Classic Rock, based on a UK-made amplifier head, and Metal, based on a California-made high-gain amplifier head. Even with its ultra-compact size, amPlug perfectly reproduces the complex and warm distortion that is distinctive of a vacuum tube, as well as the powerful high gain produced by a large amp stack. Using all new analog modeling technology, amPlug delivers full-fledged amp sound.
With its completely analog design, great care was also taken with amPlug's gain circuitry. The 'AC30' uses two natural-sounding gain stages to reproduce the distinctive AC30 tone. 'Classic Rock' uses four classical gain circuits to deliver that great sound. 'Metal' uses two stages of ultra-high gain plus a mid-cut circuit, giving you modern metal high-gain sound anywhere and anytime. Even the circuit response of the original amp is simulated completely. The simulation extends not only to the response of the tone circuits, but also to the way in which the high frequency and gain are affected when you turn down the volume control of the guitar. The amPlug Night Train perfectly simulates the high-gain sound of the compact VOX Night Train tube amp. Just as with the actual Night Train head, you can switch between the two preamp sounds. The BRIGHT position boosts the high-frequency range; the THICK position offers a chunkier, heavier sound. The emulated speaker cabinet circuit accurately recreates the sound of the Night Train amp being played through the matching V112NT single 12" Night Train speaker cabinet.
