The LS-6 A.R.E. offers many of Yamaha\’s exclusive features. The solid Engelmann Spruce top is treated with A.R.E., and together with a modified bracing design, the sound has become more powerful and loud while still maintaining excellent balance. To fit to comtemporary player\’s needs, the LS-6 A.R.E. is equipped wth a Zero-Impact Pickup, ready for performance or recording at anytime without sacrificing its traditional look or full acoustic resonance. A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha.

Through precise controll of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years.A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L seriesʼ characteristic bright tone while enhancing low-end tone. A reevaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding, and neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits todayʼs raditional players. The new design offers stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck.New 5-ply neck designs are constructed of rosewood and mahogany plies. The design integrates the neck, head, and body into a single unit creating a powerful, rich sound. This approach also creates a strong, stable neck that resists twisting and warping. This traditional Yamaha body style is known for its rich volume, a wide dynamic range, and excellent tonal balance. Beautiful, transparent tone is the result of a design that has been refined by artists around the globe.

APX series, highly evaluated for its playability on stage, is now available with all solid with SRT system. In addition to the quick response and attack of APX, solid Rosewood of side and back gives rich sustain. New cosmetics, such as Mahogany wood binding, black button on tuning machine, and the position marks are abalone/ MOP arrows seen in SG3000... it is simple, but gives us high-end appearance. APX1200 is available in Natural and Translucent Black.

Yamahaʼs new proprietary Studio Response Technology (SRT) brings back the natural, ambient sound of an acoustic guitar, and it does it with the signal from the output jack. Using a sound modeling technique that utilizes data obtained through extensive analysis of four acoustic elements that are missing from conventional pickup systems— string and body resonance, ambience, vintage microphone characteristics, and professional micing techniques, SRT delivers a natural, studio-quality acoustic guitar tone. The same tone that, until now, was only attainable by professional recording engineers in the worldʼs finest studios is now easily usable by any player, on-stage or in the studio.Using a sound modeling technique that utilizes data obtained through extensive analysis of four acoustic elements that are missing from conventional pickup systems— string and body resonance, ambience, vintage microphone characteristics, and professional micing techniques, SRT delivers a natural, studio-quality acoustic guitar tone. SRT Functions
The new SRT system lets you choose from three different high-end mic types as well as two mic positions that let you use techniques similar to those used in a recording studio. The system provides a total of six setting patterns.
The system also allows mixing of pickup and mic sound elements using the BLEND knob, and control of body resonance with the RESONANCE knob to create a wide range of rich, natural sounds.
