The 4595ND is a 1,5″ coaxial compression driver delivering a real coherent single point wave front without hot spots with excellent phase coherence and perfect time alignment. The driver is in fact a 2-way system employing two concentric annular ring diaphragms. Each driver covers a smaller frequency range for increased power handling, high dynamic and extremely low distortion.

The larger of the two reproduces middle frequency from 300 Hz upward, crossing over 6,3 kHz to the HF transducer which is capable of reaching 22 kHz. The large diaphragm excursion of max. + / – 0,8 mm results in high output and increased power handling up to 1300 W peak. The voice coils may be driven in conjunction with a passive crossover or driven individually from an active crossover. The outer casting features extensive heatsinking ensuring high power handling and low compression.

The model 2426H is a professionalquality high frequency compressiondriver which incorporates JBL'stitanium diamond diaphragm. Thistitanium diamond structure combinesthe ruggedness of phenolic andcomposite-type diaphragms with theoutstanding frequency response offragile aluminum and exotic metaldiaphragms.

JBL's exclusive suspension, consistingof a three-dimensional diamondpattern, reduces bendingstresses in the diaphragm supportstructure. The depth of the diamondpattern is closely controlled toprovide predictable frequencies forthe 2nd and 3rd normal resonancemodes and for the basic suspensionresonance.

The mathematically determinedphasing plug consists of concentricexponential horns to minimize phasecancellations. Phasing plug, throat exittube and diaphragm assemblies areidentical to the previous model.

All cast parts and tolerances are held to the same levels traditionally associated with JBL designs. Additionally the press-fit assembly and interlocking parts assure greater resistance to the mechanical shock. Diaphragm assemblies are rim centered rather than pin mounted, for instant interchange ability and ease of field service.Mounting is provided for standard25 mm (1 in) three bolt pattern. The front snout may be removed(unscrewed) to allow standard 1 3/8" -18 screw mounting. Through holes for external attachment points are also provided. A machined ring of copper surrounds the pole piece to counteract the inductance of the voice coi1 at high frequencies. After manufacture, the frequency response of each driver is tested for conformity to rigid performance standards.

The 2426H is offered in an 8 ohm impedance, and the otherwise identical 2426J is offered in a 16 ohm impedance.

 

The 2426H features a removable flange to expose a 1 3/8“-18 snout for screw-on type horns.
